File 40 - Valentine's Day

It's apparent that this Red String of Fate is yet another virus perpetrated by the community. But as far as I know, you're only supposed to be bound to one person, right? So, why do I have so many strings? And... is there any significance attached to the particular finger a string is tied to...? Maybe I'm over thinking things...

In any case, I wasn' ( Read more... )

You have more than one string, too? Where are they all?

Well, I've been able to determine that three of them are attached to people on my world: Kanji, Souji-senpai, and Nanako-chan. But I can't figure out to whom the other three are attached. I suspect it must be someone off world.

Wow, you beat my record of four. Congratulations! I think you're officially the one with the most amount of strings now.

E-Eh...? No, that can't be right! There's probably someone out there with more strings that I!

Relax. If there's someone here who's willing to vouch and say that not all the strings connect you with someone you're sleeping with, it's me. The one on my ankle ties me to Adachi, okay? Destined to be with someone includes friendship, evidently.

That's pretty self-evident in my case, given the fact that I'm attached to Senpai and Nanako-chan.

In the case of Senpai... it makes sense that I'd be tied to him. I think we were all destined to meet him, in order to save our world from Ameno-sagiri. Maybe the red string is symbolic of a bond that goes deeper than mere friendship...

...I'm amazed you're willing to give Adachi enough credit that he can make a relationship like that with someone.

...I don't really know what to think in terms of Adachi being attached to you. He keeps going on about how no one can understand him, that it's pointless for anyone to try, and yet you seem like the only one who actually gets along with him.

Well, that's mostly just because he and Wesker don't talk, Krauser hates everyone, and Stein doesn't like making friends with complete monsters. I'm literally all he has.

...Hey can I ask you for a favor? You're friends with Issei right? Any chance you'd be willing to come with us to a bar...?

I was just about to reply to Issei's thread, but this works, too! truthinfortune February 15 2010, 02:48:18 UTC
Well, when you put it like that... But in terms of being tied to one another, I think even enemies can share a destiny. Like Holmes and Moriarty, always Fated to pit wits against one another.

Yes, I am. But... a bar? You know I'm underage, right...? [Never mind the fact that Mello got her a fake ID so she can drive...]

Or like Chris and Wesker, always Fated to pit guns against one another...

Yeah, I know. I'm not exactly planning to get you kids plastered or anything like that. I can assure you I won't be drinking because bad things usually happen when I do.

That's reassuring. I mean that. But might I ask why you want to bring Issei-kun and myself to a bar?

touchofgenius February 15 2010, 03:02:34 UTC
Well, he and I got talking about how his crushes are usually not reciprocated and I figured he could use some confidence boosting in the form of guys flirting with him...? And you're coming along because he was worried about going alone.

Ah, yes... I've heard about that. But he already has a boyfriend...

In any case, I wouldn't want him to go to a place like that all by himself. I wouldn't mind coming along. Maybe I could convince Kanji to come with. It's good to have someone big and intimidating if some jerk tries to make a drunken pass at us.

That's never stopped me before. Plus, as I already explained to Issei, flirting isn't cheating, so he has nothing to worry about.

Not a bad plan I must admit. Are you speaking from experience here? ...Just make sure Kanji won't try to punch me in the face or anything. I'm sort of... Not on the best terms with him, as you can imagine.

Well... as long as Issei-kun is comfortable with it. I'm not going to cajole him into doing something he doesn't really want to do.

No, not exactly. But Kanji can easily intimidate others, even when he's not trying. And just as long as you don't give him a reason to punch you in the face, I won't let him hurt you.
