File 38 - [Accidental Video Post]

[Here we have Naoto laying curled up on her bed, face buried in the nearest pillow, and sobbing uncontrollably. At least the pillow is helping to muffle the worst of it.]

They can't... they can't really be gone. Issei-kun, Karen, Fuu, Mello... They just can't be--

[Whatever Naoto is about to say next is lost in muffles sobs and hiccups.]

God dammit, ( Read more... )

Naoto-kun...

I, I think they'll be okay. This happened once before, a little while after I first got sucked into this place...

So, you were here for that long?

Did anyone try to do anything to rescue the victims? Was there anyway to reach them?

Yeah. I was here for months before...everything started. It was just Adachi and I from home.

No, no one was able to reach them. I know they tried.

Hm...

World-hopping doesn't work, and supposedly even Shinigami can't find their souls, either. But what if their souls are trapped in limbo somewhere? Suppose for a moment that they're stuck in a dreamlike state. Do you think someone like the Corinthian, who exists in dreams, could help them?

[At least she took the time to scrub the tear tracks from her cheeks, but her eyes are a bit red and puffy.]

Yeah, I know, but... I couldn't do anything to help them...

I had this theory... that since their bodies remained in their own worlds, that perhaps only their minds were transported to that place. Like, astral projection, or a virtual reality game. The body remains comatose, but the mind or soul is active in another dimension of sorts...

If I knew for a fact whether it was either magic or some advanced form of technology which did this, then perhaps...

I'm sure they're not dead. Adachi's still unconscious in my lab...

You know a lot about souls... I was thinking that perhaps where ever the victims ended up, because their bodies remained in their own world, that perhaps their essence was transported to that place. Sort of like a virtual reality game, or astral projection. Do you have any insight on that theory?

That's the theory I'm working on, too. I've been examining Adachi since he fell unconscious, and his body and soul are both intact. He's unresponsive and his brain activity is negligible, though. Maybe his mind has been disconnected from his body.

So, you're saying that even though he's been "killed" in the game... his mind hasn't been ejected and returned to his body? I was hoping that the "losers" would awaken on their own once they had "died" in the game.

Maybe if there was someway to jump-start his brain and force it into a Beta wavelength pattern, then perhaps he would awaken?

But I should have been able to do something to help! If I knew more about what happened to them, then maybe I could have...

Right... But there must be something I can do now. Even the ones who have been "killed" haven't awakened. There has to be someway to reconnect the mind and body once again...

How long did it take before the victims awakened? Isn't there anyway to speed up the process?

Some of they woke up the next day...it took a whole week for Alizé.

So, there's nothing we can do? What about the Corinthian? He's an entity who exists within the Dreaming, right? Couldn't he do something to awaken them?
