File 38 - [Accidental Video Post]

[Here we have Naoto laying curled up on her bed, face buried in the nearest pillow, and sobbing uncontrollably. At least the pillow is helping to muffle the worst of it.]

They can't... they can't really be gone. Issei-kun, Karen, Fuu, Mello... They just can't be--

[Whatever Naoto is about to say next is lost in muffles sobs and hiccups.]

God dammit, ( Read more... )

[At least she took the time to scrub the tear tracks from her cheeks, but her eyes are a bit red and puffy.]

Yeah, I know, but... I couldn't do anything to help them...

I had this theory... that since their bodies remained in their own worlds, that perhaps only their minds were transported to that place. Like, astral projection, or a virtual reality game. The body remains comatose, but the mind or soul is active in another dimension of sorts...

If I knew for a fact whether it was either magic or some advanced form of technology which did this, then perhaps...

Do you think it's possible to awaken the victims once they've been... killed? If this entire scenario was set up as a game by some game master, as I have theorized, then perhaps the minds those who have "died" were ejected from that place?

Do you think it's possible to awaken those people, then? If so, then how?

...The unconscious brain operates on Delta wavelengths while the awakened brain operates on Beta wavelengths. If we could somehow jumpstart the brain and force it onto an active brainwave pattern, then maybe...

So, let's go over what we already know: we can't world-hop to where the victims are located, nor can shinigami sense their souls.

Since the victims were asleep for this scenario, this might lend credence to the theory that they're trapped in a dreamscape. The only person I can think of who has experience with such a realm is the Corinthian. It's possible that he might be able to help us to awaken the victims, do you think?

Dr. Stein seems to favor the theory that involves magic, as do I. A virtual reality scenario would involve having the victim hooked up to some sort of apparatus which would allow the victim's unconscious mind to be streamed as data. However, the victims simply fell asleep and cannot be awakened, which suggests something along the lines of astral projection.

I'll do that. Although you did mention the victims are supposed to awaken on their own, if they don't recover in the next few days, then we'll have to take action. We can't assume that these events will conclude the same way as before...

...This shouldn't have happened in the first place. The community is just supposed to annoy you with petty little viruses that change your sex or turn you into an animal. It's... It's not supposed to kill people.

...I miss them. I mean, I know they'll come back, but I... I don't want to have to wait. I want them back. Right now...

Yeah, but I suppose that's hoping for too much from this place...

I know it'll probably make him flail terribly, but I want to give Issei-kun a big hug when he finally awakens.
