[A series of separate journal entries would have been posted over the course of several days; Edward will have a somewhat sporadic response time for them, too. He might respond for a few hours and then not until the day following the entry ICly anyway-- I'll be tagging it normally 8|, since the cryptic commentary in each day's entry hints at how he ( Read more... )

[Voice] We'll call it Tuesday. sapphire_sniper May 10 2011, 07:33:35 UTC
Less than a month? Maybe if you prove that uninteresting to the Malnosso.

[Voice] Tuesdays are okay. It's Mondays that no one likes. truthget May 10 2011, 07:38:51 UTC
I'd accept that I'm uninteresting if it means I can go back.

Yeah, don't count yourself so lucky. Plenty of people here have something that sets them apart from the rest of us, but that doesn't stop the Malnosso. They'll take pretty much anybody for their experiments here, fat or thin, tall or short.

All week, shortly after each post goes up... derek_bliss May 10 2011, 11:34:11 UTC
[Derek's already decided not to actively seek Ed out; Winry's already answered the question about memories, and Derek's not feeling particularly social anyway.

But he is interested in what's going on.

So he'll read each journal entry; suspecting there's some sort of purpose to all of it, especially after the second day. After all, he gives the kid credit for both knowing better than to use the journals for anything personal (as long as his friends remembered to tell him about that), and for not wasting time on some really inane things...and no one uses the damn thing as a diary.

So have the sound of turning pages each day, followed by someone carefully closing their own journal, after each post is made.]

[He hears you reading, but he's mostly interested in why it's recorded. Is that intentional? Or is it by mistake? And does he understand? Who is it?

But it's okay. He can wait. The presence is noted and then quietly dismissed.]

[Edward has to stop short at that. He'd read - and heard - that animals could talk in Luceti, but he has yet to see it in practice.]

Was that you?

What the hell is alchemy?

Reply

[voice] truthget May 12 2011, 18:49:03 UTC
It's science. "The knowledge, analysis, and recreation of the laws and currents that exist within substances."

[Geez, how can anyone not know what alchemy is 8| this world is so weird.]

Ohhh. Funny I always thought it had something to do with gold.

Not just gold, but any substance in the world, as long as you know its composition. It's illegal to transmute gold, though.

Thursday... since that's today now. twinnedavarice May 12 2011, 13:55:55 UTC
[Checking on a chick, huh? Ling will be... somewhere, around the bridge, where Ed hadn't been looking. There for commentary, naturally. It's not Greed this time. He's kind of realized that with no plots to work on, there's no reason to expend so much energy to stay in control. Ling is just autopilot.]

I never knew you were so interested in birds, Ed.

[...Whoa, that's Ling in control there. Better check that out.]

It's relevant to the state of our bodies right now.

[... right. Ling looks a little skeptical at that.]

Just because we have wings, I don't think we'll start laying eggs anytime soon.
