Jason and Sookie continue their quest to solve their parent's deaths, Bill has a flashback, Lafayette leads a seance and Hoyt and Jessica meet again. Let's see what's in store this week.
They seem pretty much done to me. Jessica still cares about Hoyt, however. I think that she's grateful to him, remember Hoyt was the one who helped Jessica comes to terms with being a vampire. Despite all the horrible things he said to her when they were breaking up, Jessica still wants Hoyt to be safe. Hoyt, sadly is still pretty much in love with her.
Spineless? There are many adjectives I'd toss Mr. Compton's way right now but "spineless" would not be one of them. We have to remember that Bill truly believed in mainstreaming for decades before he even met Sookie. He saw people as being more than talking meat for a least half of his undead existence. Now everything he thought was right and true has been pushed away by some big voice in the sky. People's minds get twisted from religion and popularly held beliefs all the time; as much as we like to think we are individuals, we all fall in line with our cultures.
I see what you're saying but I stand by my adjective.
I don't buy this whole "everything I thought was right and true has been turned upside down" bit. I don't see where, why, or how that happened to him. Because he tripped on LB (Lilith Blood)? Because Sookie rejected him? Because Salome evoked the memory of his daughter passing away? The back story for his motivation to mainstream is much stronger and makes more sense to me and wouldn't be counterbalanced by recent events.
Fans a theorizing, and I'm starting to agree, that whatever is in that vial is something more than really old vampire blood. People are thinking that Lilith might be a mother to all supes, or that the vial is really Salome's blood and she is part fairy or a succubus, or something. So I'm leaning towards "brainwashed and crazy" for Bill. You're right, all that has happened shouldn't counterbalance all that Bill has been for 70ish years, but it has...so yeah.
