Jason and Jessica

Is anyone else bothered with the idea of them as a couple/hook up sex partners? It just REALLY bothers me with the idea of them together. I know Jason is a bit of a horn dog but I just can't see him betraying Hoyt that way. Rene' turning out to be a bad guy really screwed Jason up. He really leaned on Hoyt after that and I just don't see him doing ( Read more... )

Being female and never had "male bonding" I think they have a great arrangement until he has sex with someone else...don't think she can handle that and it is inevitable...

I have a hard time understanding the whole jealousy thing anyways..I tried monogamy for many years and it sucked...never do that again lol.

Well, it's not that uncommon in fiction for two best friends to be in love with the same woman (or vice versa), and I think it was rather well done this season, with Jason struggling with his feelings. Will it last, I don't know, but I got on board with their chemistry and connection very early. I feel like Hoyt is, in a lot of ways, to Jessica as Bill is to Sookie (and for the record, I do prefer Bill/Sookie to Eric/Sookie, but still don't think she should be with him forever). Hoyt was, for all intents and purposes, the first boy Jessica ever spoke to (at least in a flirtatious, romantic sense) and, in real world time, she just would be eighteen now.

I actually like it a lot, since Jessica doesn't want to be serious at all. This is what she should be doing as a new vampire as well as a teenager - taking time to explore herself and her feelings. Hoyt was the first guy she ever dated, and while they were cute, I'm sort of glad they eventually broke up. It doesn't surprise me that Jason got together with her after he drank her blood.

I had an intense conversation with my friend about that.

I continue to believe IMO that drink her blood is a strong excuse to do what he did. We all know Jason and his nature. I compare him with Sookie for example, she also drank Eric's blood and had some feelings for him as well but she didn't do anything. Was it another situation? Yes. Was She with Bill? Yes. I get all of this, but even so I still believe that for Jason is a quite excuse the blood thing considering he's always motived for sex.

Wasn't Jessica's the first vampire's blood he drank, though? Sookie had already had Bill's and knew what it would do before she had Eric's, as far as I can remember.

I don't remember either but I think you are right.

This factor united with that thing that I said before (about he's a impulsive guy and she's more rational) could bring a good explanation for all of this =)

In real life, there are very few guys who adhere to any "bro code". I'm finding the story line true to life. Add in the supernatural element of vampire blood and that the writers think that healthy relationships are boring (which applies to friendship too), and you have Jason and Jessica. So, no, it doesn't bother me. If I want to see love, loyalty, and idealism, I go to Friday Night Lights, not True Blood. lol

Trufax! And 'The Swede' although I think most of us would just like to forget Season 2 altogether.

But the Taylors were the real deal! And eventually, Tim & Lyla were loyal to each other, Matt & Julie were good with each other, and I can't remember who else but it was a good depiction of healthy relationships, imo.

*sigh* I'm really gonna miss that show. :(

(btw, you're a True Blood, FNL, and GoT fan?! are we twins?!)
