Sometimes I really hate being a vampire. For example, the other night I was "with" Hoyt and we discovered afterward that I'm going to be a virgin for as long as I exist because it keeps growing back. It's so terrible and freakin' weird and I think Hoyt was weirded out too. It just reminds me constantly that I'm never going to be able to have a baby

You know, i don't really know, what's a maenad? It's just really fucking weird.

A Maenad, my dear Young One, is a person that, by believing they were Godlike and immortal, became immortal over the course of time.
Basically, they are very pathetic and desperate beings, but they're very powerful and can even harm a vampire, so it's best you stay away with them, especially at your fragile age.
