Just sayin' Hey!

Hey!  ::waves::  I took my last final for this semester last Thursday and I'm taking the next two weeks off from work which adds up to a vacation from both work and school.  \o/

Don't get me wrong ... )

Hey! Nice to hear from you! If you're up for some writing it would be absolutely awesome to read some new fanfic from you. I go back and re-read your Mag7 fics fairly often. They're always a great read.
Enjoy your time off!

Seriously, you made my day - my year. Thank you. Very kind. I drive to work on a two lane highway very much like the one I imagined Chris living off of in The Years In Between. It makes for a lot of opportunities to think of Chris and Vin which makes me think I'm not done with them yet. They're still my favorite characters to write for.

Thanks again, sweetheart!

Woo-hoo, news from one of my favourite people. Of course you're exhausted, shift work plus study = recipe for burtnout, but you are resourceful and steady and you'll make it out of there!

Very much looking forward to reading your Tour of Duty and Shelter stories. (I still think about the restaurant scene in Tour of Duty).

Let us know how many A+s (and As and B+s, etc.) you get!

Hi M! Thanks for the encouragement! I made kind of a half-assed attempt to sign up for some summer classes but when the ones I wanted were filled I didn't try to push my in like I have before. I can't shake the feeling that I'm wasting time but I know if I kept pushing I would be a hot mess before the summer's over. :)

So far, I've gotten a B in Chemistry and A's in everything else. I took Pharmacology, Life Cycle I and Gerontology this last semester. It's slow going and it doesn't speed things up when they add an extra math requirement but I figure if I just keep going I'll finish someday in the not too distant future. ::crosses fingers::

Ahh, the restaurant scene ... No subtext at all. It's all upfront. I still remember the first time I saw it and thinking, Am I seeing what I'm seeing? It makes my heart giddy that it made an impression on you.

So good to hear from you! I hope you get in lots of stress-free vegging before classes start up again in August.

My goal is a traditional hardcover book with a quarter-bookcloth binding and laced in cords on the spine.

That sounds awesome. I'd love to hear about your progress on it!

I'm vegging like a pro - like I was born to it!

I was thinking about documenting the bookbinding like a word count. Hopefully it'll keep me focused and stop me from flipping out when I hit a snag. Stay tuned? And thanks, girl, for the encouragement!

I have to second ephinee's comment about reading your Mag7 fic. I know what you mean about SPN and being slightly irritated by it. I don't want to write SPN but if you ever get around to it I'd love to read it.

Also, the bookbinding. I remember in TPM fandom a million years ago there was a zine put out that was stunning. Handmade, beautiful paper, gorgeously illustrated. I was beyond impressed. It always seemed like something worthwhile to learn but, sigh, I'm probably only patient enough to try something like this. :)

Oh, good luck! I bet you make a beautiful book. You'll have to show us pictures when it's done.

And fic! Awesome. I don't know ToD, but will look forward to Shelter and (here's hoping) SPN from you!

Thank you, sweetheart! The only thing that I've done that was even remotely creative is write. I feel like I can recognize something artistic but I'm not sure I can actually put together something artistic. It seems like it calls on a whole different skill set.

ToD is a very small fandom but the characters and the time period (post-Tet Offensive Vietnam) really call on my attention and emotions. I'm trying to write it so that you don't have watch all 3 seasons to know what's going on but if you do get a chance to see it I highly recommend it. I'm a little surprised at how much I want to get at the Shelter story. I think it's because it's Shaun-centric and I'm dying to fill in some of the details that the film left out. The idea I have for SPN is post-apocalyptic self-indulgent wish fulfillment, pure and simple. If I ever get it written out I intend to include that as a warning. :)
