Oh, rosacea. I just got diagnosed a few months ago. If you're not interested in prescription medicine, which has helped a lot, and you get flakes on your face, I can recommend Angels on Bare Skin, an exfoliator from Lush that has really cut down on my flakiness.
Also, please be careful, as untreated rosacea can attack your eyes.
I have rosacea too. The only thing I've found that really affects it is fasting--it gets waaay better. Aside from that, natural skin care, eating right and not drinking, all have much more affect for me than prescriptions.
And if it does get to a point of really bothering you, you can get laser therapy.
I'll miss the Ogdorm, but I do plan to visit often, at least until I move up North.
Use ph strips, you can get them from wholefoods. Just measure it midstream when you pee.
Wholefoods also have a "Alkamax" some pills with strongly alkaline properties that includes about 15 ph strips. I've been taking those along with:
Solaray 1000mg L-Lysine+ 1000mg Vitamin C + 50 mg of Zinc. As recommended by one of the the roscea forums. Supposedly the Vitamin C is necessary to help absorb the L-Lysine.
and MSM - which is generally good for the skin/enzymes.
I also have rosacea. I've had lasers. Mine was full face, orange peel rosacea.
The lasers helped, but i still have it. certain food seem to be bigger triggers than others. The other week I ate a lot of bread, cheese, and beer and I was red for a few days

I'm not at the flakey stage or the acne stage, just the flushed, though I could tell it's close to busted capillaries.
Have you ever measured your ph before and after an attack?
I noticed when I had the results, I was very acidic, now back into the normal range, the symptoms are going away. almost gone today.
