("Weird" how many CLU fans are out here LOL).
As I said, I wanted to try out a fight scene because those are really not my forte, because I want to write a FF that is a bit longer than the five drabbles I wrote so far. 'Glad that it got your stamp of approval ^-^
Hm, I (often) don't like it (although there are times I adore it - it's not that simple with me LOL) when Rinzler is depicted as either a brainless tool or a big kitten/animal, so I like to aim for him being a special ops who is bad ass but still a tool to CLU; although there is certainly affection at play too.
Again, thanks for reading!

I like Rinzler with some complexity, too. If Clu is in the business of surrounding himself with mindless tools, then I'm not sure how to explain Jarvis -- Clu does seem to value autonomy, at least to some degree. :P Besides, an entirely mindless/animalistic enforcer would be of limited use. If we'd only seen Rinzler in the arena I could buy this idea, but Clu trusts him to find and bring back Flynn... that's a subtle and difficult task.

But I totally agree with you. CLU keeps Jarvis around because of his abilities and I guess, because he can read him well and anticipate his moves. As well, he is not ignorant to the fact that Jarvis is a little coward and fair-weather ally, as we have seen when Sam removes the master key. When he knows it, he's in control
And Rinzler, although his loyalty is forced, is definetely not a mindless tool or animal/attack dog, but more special operator, who can adapt to changes to fulfill his task. Honestly, CLU would have never expended the energy/effort to repurpose Tron if he had thought he would get any less. Someone who aims for perfection must be efficient like that.
PS: Do you know, per chance, what those orbs were that CLU was rolling in his hand during the arena fight? Most seem to think that he controlled Rinzler with them, but I really doubt that...

And rinzler as special ops? Perfect. If you need something done right, you call rinzler.

Yes, yes, exactly THAT announcement! The creator of "Project Tron/Rinzler" (a fanvid over on YT, but I'm sure you know of that already) used it and I went all gooey in the knee LOL
I'm not much into kitty!Rinzler - it depends how far the writer takes it - but now I really wonder how your ipad makes that connection. Isn't it far fetched, from "Rinzler" to "nuzzle"?
