Awesome. I love the variety here -- the different weapons, the pause for recharge, and Clu's banter all give this plenty of flavor. Clu's affection for Rinzler (even if just as an enforcer) comes through loud and clear, too. Great job!

Oh my, thank you for reading and commenting,- what a huge compliment when it comes from you, since I totally adore your stories "Outshine" and "Reflection". I really love your take on CLU!

("Weird" how many CLU fans are out here LOL).

As I said, I wanted to try out a fight scene because those are really not my forte, because I want to write a FF that is a bit longer than the five drabbles I wrote so far. 'Glad that it got your stamp of approval ^-^

Hm, I (often) don't like it (although there are times I adore it - it's not that simple with me LOL) when Rinzler is depicted as either a brainless tool or a big kitten/animal, so I like to aim for him being a special ops who is bad ass but still a tool to CLU; although there is certainly affection at play too.

Again, thanks for reading!

Aw, thanks! *blush*

I like Rinzler with some complexity, too. If Clu is in the business of surrounding himself with mindless tools, then I'm not sure how to explain Jarvis -- Clu does seem to value autonomy, at least to some degree. :P Besides, an entirely mindless/animalistic enforcer would be of limited use. If we'd only seen Rinzler in the arena I could buy this idea, but Clu trusts him to find and bring back Flynn... that's a subtle and difficult task.

I just fear that his purring makes Rinzler jailbait for every fangirl in a mile-wide radius LOL

But I totally agree with you. CLU keeps Jarvis around because of his abilities and I guess, because he can read him well and anticipate his moves. As well, he is not ignorant to the fact that Jarvis is a little coward and fair-weather ally, as we have seen when Sam removes the master key. When he knows it, he's in control

And Rinzler, although his loyalty is forced, is definetely not a mindless tool or animal/attack dog, but more special operator, who can adapt to changes to fulfill his task. Honestly, CLU would have never expended the energy/effort to repurpose Tron if he had thought he would get any less. Someone who aims for perfection must be efficient like that.

PS: Do you know, per chance, what those orbs were that CLU was rolling in his hand during the arena fight? Most seem to think that he controlled Rinzler with them, but I really doubt that...

I think I may have already posted a comment about this one oneshot over at ffn.net ('irinab' if you like cross-finding people, like i do),but 'beam blade'--is that those staffs that the Guards used in the club fight scene in the movie? Cause beam blade; I like that; I've been reading people use 'light staff/stick/katana' (whichever) but for some reason I like 'beam blade' best, haha.
And rinzler as special ops? Perfect. If you need something done right, you call rinzler.
:)

I love to cross-find people, too ^-^ I would have already thanked you and replied to your review over on FF.net, but sadly, that's not possible with anonymous reviews, which is a shame. So thank you now for reading and commenting on both sites ( ... )

Yeah, I do have an account over there but I hate how it doesnt let you stay logged in for more than 3 days so once the three days pass I just go with being anon.

*quorra busts through into the game arena*
announcer: illegal combatant on the floor! Release rinzler!
Lol

Ps idk if youre one of the people that like kitty!rinzler, but every te I type 'rinzler' on my ipod, the spellcheck wants to change it to 'nuzzle'.

Hm, I don't like to stay logged in, because my paranoid father says that then people can easily hack into your account... Granted, I doubt my profile or stories would warrant the effort, but, since it's his PC...

Yes, yes, exactly THAT announcement! The creator of "Project Tron/Rinzler" (a fanvid over on YT, but I'm sure you know of that already) used it and I went all gooey in the knee LOL

I'm not much into kitty!Rinzler - it depends how far the writer takes it - but now I really wonder how your ipad makes that connection. Isn't it far fetched, from "Rinzler" to "nuzzle"?
