Casting Temeraire

This post is about nine months in the making, but it's not going to be nearly as impressive as it should be for taking that long. Anyway, last September or so it was announced that Peter Jackson had optioned the rights to Naomi Novik's Temeraire book series. So, I recently finished the first Temeraire book. I picked up all three at the beginning of the summer because I saw them in the store and remembered that you recommended them to me a while ago. I still have to read the next two.

First: Thank you!

Second: OMG WILL!!! He will be all I see from now on when I read the books.

Third: What about Temeraire? Someone has to do the voice.

1: Yay! You're totally welcome, and now we're even, since I probably wouldn't have picked up Harry Potter if I didn't know how much you loved them.

2: Dude! Isn't he just... exactly the right kind of yummy for Lawrence? I know he's not British, but he's an actor. It's his job to pretend to be things he's not. I'm sure he can do a serviceable Brit accent.

3: Temeraire is too hard! It has to be young, but also able to speak French and Chinese. Most kidlets can't work that. Maybe Dave Foley? I loved his voice-over work in A Bug's Life. But then, I'd want to giggle all the time, because Dave always, always, always makes me laugh.
