They were horses with hood thingies. The first one I saw was wearing a black hoody with eyeholes and a mouth/nose hole thingy and looked every so ninjatastic.

...hotdish on a stick?

I come from the land of the batter-dipped Swedish meatball...but hotdish on a stick is new to me!

Yes! Best thing evar. It was a meatball, a tater tot, a meatball, a tater tot, etc, skewered and battered and deep fried. It was served with a sauce which did not cross my lips because it contained icky icky mushrooms, but I'm told by people who eat the horrid things that the sauce was tasty. The hotdish on a stick certainly was!

They really were fantastic. I'm having very fond memories. I'd love to have fair food for dinner tonight, but even if I could get it right at home I would probably die halfway through from the heart attack. Still. Might be worth it for more hotdish on a stick and some fried cheese curds. *drool*
