I've waited a day to reply to this, so that I could be calmer about replying.

If you really think a couple rednecks talking represents all men, you will be single your entire life. You will always be looking for the worst in all men, and that will never get you anywhere.

I was raised to respect women, to treat everyone (men and women) as equal until they proved themselves as not.

There is a strong misandry toward men in our generation and I'm at a loss to understand it. "Men are gross/men are stupid/men are evil/men are crass". I do not generalize all women based on some slut I see at a mall, but I'm surprised and disappointed that it seems to be ok to generalize men.

i appreciate your indignation. that was why i prefaced the statement the way i did. i spoke of 'men' in the same way that we might say the word 'you' in conversation to include various and assundry entities not necessarily the person we are talking to ( ... )

I am sorry you feel like I was attacking you with my comment, it is your journal and that was not my intention. I am not offended, simply concerned.

I opened the cut part of your journal because I care about your life. It was not my intention to upset you from reading it. I will consider that in the future.

you are welcome to read whatever i post that you have access to. my point was that implying i would be single forever because i overhead a bunch of asswipes speaking loudly in public and it made me irritated with 'men' seems rather inappropriate and unfair. i do not imply that your problems with your ex mean you will never again have a successful marriage. i know you know that all women do not fall under that same umbrella.
