I woke up this morning to my mobile phone beeping in my ear, apparently I had a missed call from D who was at work.  The time of the call was 8.05am which was a couple of hours before I got up and I must admit to being a little worried why he was trying to call me at that time on a Sunday morning.
It seems a friend of his was in getting his papers ( Read more... )

Gah, old people are so worrying. I hope Social Services manage to assess him and get him a nice place.

They are worrying, it's funny how you start feeling like the parent and they are the kids :(

Grrrs at the Warden for not letting you know about the fire.

Hope you manage to get him sorted out into somewhere more suitable soon.

Do they have warden assisted places where they cook your meals for you up there. My Granny was in one down here and it was a great, cause if she wanted to cook she could and if she didn't want to she just popped along to the dinning area.

I don't really know to be honest, I'm sure we'll find out when we try to get him sorted out, although it may be safer to keep him away from cookers ;)

Jeez, what a way to find out about something like that! What was the warden thinking about?! Well, clearly not thinking at all so stupid question.

I know D is still mad at her, at least no-one was hurt and thankfully it was only smoke damage, but he really needs somewhere else now I don't think he's safe :(

Does your fil have a social worker? And if so they should really get on the case about this, if only to give you some advice about places etc.

No, he only gets visits from a team worker that comes to the complex now and again. D is going to try and get in touch with the woman that is supposed to come to assess him.

Jeez...can't believe nobody got in touch with you !

It may be easier to call D's dads' GP to arrange for an assessment , they can then contact social services rather than D trying to chase up the original enquiries
