Christmas Party [ Ballroom ]

Dec 23, 2008 20:47

The party takes place in Ouran Academy's grand ballroom. It's a room large enough to fit any normal school inside it completely, with columns holding up high vaulted ceilings. Tall windows give excellent views of the school grounds, covered in snow with more snow lightly drifting down from the sky ( Read more... )

The doors open up onto a wide balcony, with two flights of stairs leading down to the general eating area. The tables are covered in festive red and green tablecloths, lit by candles in the middle of each one.

The first thought that went through San's mind was just why she was there. There was sure to be many humans there (and there were). It made her feel uncomfortable being in a...well, human dwelling. The humans wouldn't even let her bring her knife in! Bah.

Then she remembered the chewtoys. Maybe Christmas wasn't so bad...that and maybe the few humans that weren't so bad would be there. The scent of the food drew her out from the corner which she was hiding in. Sniffing the air, San found a place on the floor to sit. With a few packages wrapped in deerskin on her lap, San ignored the looks she gained and simply stared back.

Of course there was the issue with her clothes...being a fancy party, her normal clothes (and to be perfectly honest, her only clothes) weren't acceptable. However, San wouldn't let that stop her. She simply took what she needed from a random passerby. The result is that her clothing is mismatched and doesn't fit her quite right.

Shia spotted a very uncomfortable, oddly-dressed girl sitting in the floor. She frowned a bit to herself; the girl was all on her own! What a shame.

Shia approached her, smiling warmly. "Hello!"

San looked up, more than a bit surprised.

"...Hello," she said slowly. She normally would have growled in response but she was trying to be at least somewhat sociable.

The live orchestra plays on through the night, a wide selection of tunes from all eras.

Heiji took Shia's hand and led her out onto the dance floor; well aware that they were the only two there at the moment. Not that he actually cared. As a detective, he was used to having eyes on him all the time.

The tune wasn't one he recognized but the music was smooth and easy to put familiar steps to. He smiled and faced her, holding out his other hand for hers, taking a moment to memorize the rhythm.

Shia took his hand, an experienced dancer herself. She smiled up at him again, glad to be dancing again-- she'd missed it.

He laughed slightly and led the dance, going slow at first to gather a pattern in his steps; half whinging the entire dance, half borrowing traditional steps from common dances.

Once he got the hand of it, he sped up a bit, confident enough in his own ability that he did not falter even if the music changed and he had to add a movement.

Heiji was too intent on having fun to follow any normal type of ballroom dancing.

SECRET SANTA roseandsparkle December 24 2008, 01:55:45 UTC
There's a sign set up next to the largest Christmas tree proclaiming "SECRET SANTA MEETUP", with nametags set out to help people who don't know each other find each other in the crowd.

After arriving, Azula wasted no time mingling (that wasn't why she was here, after all). She headed straight to the Secret Santa area, and laid an envelope (labeled only with the Fire Nation seal and the name "Hades") under the tree. Then she walked away.

San set her gift, a package of dried rabbit meat with the fur of the rabbit tied around it next to the tree with the other gifts. A crude tag with the name "Kasumi" on it identified it. She left to save her pride.

Akihiko left a box marked to 'San' under the tree as well. Inside was a pair of sharp steel hunting knives with bone handles. The knives were a bit special. Just holding them would make San a little stronger and faster.

He'd thought long and hard about what to get her, since he had never spoken to her before. But from what he'd seen, he thought she might like them, and he'd happened to find just the thing in Tartarus a few days before.

So, Clark had no idea who this gift was for, let alone what to get someone else. Ergo, Clark had gotten Aang a very generic Asian gift of a Zen rock garden. He stood awkwardly (he still had to go to the one in Metropolis and save the world, gosh he was busy) with it wrapped up with the words "AANG" written in hurried script.

All right, Aang gets a gift from Superman! new_avatar December 24 2008, 05:51:59 UTC
From the corner of his eye, Aang noticed a package with his name scrawled on it (completely and conveniently ignoring language barriers, because we can). He approached the one holding it and gave him a big smile. "Hi there! I'm Aang," he introduced himself simply.
