Christmas Party [ Ballroom ]

Dec 23, 2008 20:47

The party takes place in Ouran Academy's grand ballroom. It's a room large enough to fit any normal school inside it completely, with columns holding up high vaulted ceilings. Tall windows give excellent views of the school grounds, covered in snow with more snow lightly drifting down from the sky ( Read more... )

The doors open up onto a wide balcony, with two flights of stairs leading down to the general eating area. The tables are covered in festive red and green tablecloths, lit by candles in the middle of each one.

The first thought that went through San's mind was just why she was there. There was sure to be many humans there (and there were). It made her feel uncomfortable being in a...well, human dwelling. The humans wouldn't even let her bring her knife in! Bah.

Then she remembered the chewtoys. Maybe Christmas wasn't so bad...that and maybe the few humans that weren't so bad would be there. The scent of the food drew her out from the corner which she was hiding in. Sniffing the air, San found a place on the floor to sit. With a few packages wrapped in deerskin on her lap, San ignored the looks she gained and simply stared back.

Of course there was the issue with her clothes...being a fancy party, her normal clothes (and to be perfectly honest, her only clothes) weren't acceptable. However, San wouldn't let that stop her. She simply took what she needed from a random passerby. The result is that her clothing is mismatched and doesn't fit her quite right.

Shia spotted a very uncomfortable, oddly-dressed girl sitting in the floor. She frowned a bit to herself; the girl was all on her own! What a shame.

Shia approached her, smiling warmly. "Hello!"

San looked up, more than a bit surprised.

"...Hello," she said slowly. She normally would have growled in response but she was trying to be at least somewhat sociable.

"I noticed you were all on your own," Shia said softly, her voice more puzzled and concerned than anything else. "Do you mind if I join you?"

"You can stay if you want."

This surprised San, she was used to being avoided. She scooted over to make room.

Shia hasn't met San before besides on the comm, and San said she was a wolf, so... shia_o_shima December 24 2008, 03:23:03 UTC
Shia smiled and sat beside her, arranging her skirts about her. She turned to smile again at the girl; she seemed familiar. She was certain she knew her, in fact. Strange. "Have you been having a nice time?"

"..There's too many humans here for my liking," San said carefully. "And being in a building makes me nervous."

San sniffed the air again. "Though, that food smells good. We don't get this much variety in the forest."

Ah, that solved that, then. It was definitely San. "That's understandable," Shia said, "And, yes, the food seems wonderful. Would you like to go get some, hime?"

"Might as well," she murmured as she got up. "I'm hungry."

Shia stepped in, hands nervously wringing in her skirts; she was wearing a beautiful white gown that Joshua had given her. She was very grateful for those lovely new gowns; it had been a long time since she'd received them, but they still came in handy.

"Oh," she breathed upon entering. "This place is beautiful." The sheer size made her head spin. She could see a few people had already arrived, and put on her best smile, stepping further in. She hadn't been to a party like this... ever, she didn't think.

Heiji frowned in disbelief at the sheer size of the party. Whoever planned this had probably gone quite overboard, and it just screamed 'money'. Still, he'd been in large fancy dwellings and been in the presence of quite a few rich individuals, so at least he knew how to act.

He was wearing a pretty nice suit; which was normally hidden in the back of his closet awaiting special events. It looked like an attempt was made on his hair to straighten it out a bit but the strands hadn't cooperated for very long.

He would have brought his hat too, but the thing had gone missing. Which frustrated him to no end, but there really wasn't anything he could do.

Taking a breath Heiji moved around, accidentally bumping into a woman wearing a white gown. Startled, he stepped back and held out a hand to help steady her. "Oh, I'm sorry." He yelped apologetically, his Kansai accent giving his voice a bouncy lilt. "Didn't mean t' bump into ya."

((OOC: Why hallo thar Shia!))

"Oh!" Shia stumbled a bit, catching herself on his arm. "It's-- quite alright," she said, flashing him a smile and fidgeting with her skirts, straightening it all back out again almost nervously.

He noticed her fidgeting and smiled, probably just as nervous. "Not used t' parties like this?" He asked, curiously. She certainly looked like she could belong in this type of class, though.

"No," she admitted softly, smiling sheepishly. "I've never been invited to a party so nice before."

He knew it. "Ah, I see. S'all right. I've only been to the occasional one on cases, or parties at the police station, but I don't think I've ever seen one this big." The detective ran his hand through his hair, his left arm moving slightly, in a familiar reflex to put a hat back on his head, but he caught himself before he did it completely. "Used t' jeans really. Fancy clothes don't suit me. But you look nice though. Like ya could be at dozens o' these parties."
