What a Workout Week!

I am wiped out.  I've been up early (5:something) every morning since Wednesday to exercise - Wed run, Thu swim, Fri run, Sat run, Sun bike/run.

Saturday I ran 9 miles with Tracy.  It was a miserable run.  We started at 7 but it wasn't early enough to avoid the heat and humidity.  I don't think my new nutrition plan is giving me enough fuel - I ( Read more... )

Never a wimp. Remember, this is all about fun! Maybe you need to TAPER this week and re-assess when the race comes about. Sounds like classic over training to me. But then, I'm a classic undertrainer, so maybe not the best influence (or maybe I am!) It's suppose to be Fun! (It's Lynn...I can't seem to get signed in!)

You're not a wimp! Remember, this is all supposed to be FUN! Maybe you're overtraining? Perhaps some serious tapering is in order, then do what you want to do. No tri police will be after you! You've had a very busy season already!
Have fun!

Not a big old wimp at all. I think everyone has problems with late-season tris. You're burning out, you're starting to anticipate and start training for marathon season.. it's not surprising that this one is rough mentally. I skipped Dilloman last year for the same reason.. I was just done with tris, and ready to refocus, and I resented Dilloman. Anyway, tired of typing one-handed.. but do what feels right to you. If it sounds like it can be fun, do it. If it sounds like a chore and you dread it, decide now that you're gonna skip it and embrace that decision.
