trio100: The situation is awkward for all those involved. The Aurors who have known Neville the longest-namely, Harry, Ron, and Hermione-are worried how he'll react to the capture of Bellatrix.
neville100: Neville's never told anyone how much he wanted Bellatrix to suffer.
hermione100: Neville sees a demonstration of the Cruciatus Curse, the spell inflicted on his parents, in fourth year Defense Against the Dark Arts. Hermione remembers his reaction to it.
deatheaters100: The dark-haired woman is Bellatrix.
"Neville?" a soft voice asked hesitantly.
The boy looked up quickly. "Yes?"
She wanted to put her arms around him, but held back. "She's here."
"Oh." He followed her silently into another room, where a dark-haired woman glared at the Aurors surrounding her.
Two moved toward him.
"We thought you’d want-that you should-"
He nodded, approaching her with determination.
"I wanted to make you suffer like you made them suffer." He leaned in, and, for a moment, fear flickered in her gaze. "But I'm better than you."
“Oh?”
“The dementors can have you. Have a nice life, Lestrange.”
