It looks to me like the gators just don't want to deal with it. I mean, they do spend the vast majority of their time lying, immobile.

I just want to ask the cat, what will you do if you catch him?

Oh, I included that in my disclaimer. Fact is, reptiles are probably the only creatures more lazy than cats and are even more averse to taking injury than cats are. I fully understand that. It doesn't change the fact that I think it's awesome that the gator backed off and, even when he got backup, the kitty was still like RAR and won.

Also: never ask a cat what it would do with its prey. Either the question is irrelevant to the cat (the catching is the point!) or you're about to get an unpleasant surprise (disemboweled mice in your slippers).
