I totally love this AU. Between the originality and the interweaving of canon and how you tell it itself...simply marvelous.

And John...he's big and successful, but you can see the toll, the cost. And Rodney's the only one who's allowed to see it.

I am myself sort of amazed that successful!John is so depressed (worse, maybe even, than Antarctica!John), but I think being in the spotlight is really hard for him, especially when his whole public persona is underlaid with a lie. Hmm.
