Mars Dreaming

Jun 14, 2005 01:30

Dog toenails clicking across the bathroom floor woke me up at 1:30 a.m. As I turned over in bed, Mars began to talk in his sleep.

"All right, everybody. Gather around," he said. "We're here to discuss the lighting, see if we can do the Kyoto Tommy School of Driving."

He paused.

"Yes, it's aggressive. But...I think we can do it ( Read more... )

Now that is some weird stuff to wake up to.

You gonna ask him what it means when he wakes up? :)

Oh, heck yeah! But he didn't remember. Truth is, even when I wake him to ask him immediately, he seldom remembers.

But I think I'm going to believe it was the style of driving that was aggressive.

Sleeptalking husbands are the greatest... anonymous June 14 2005, 14:09:12 UTC
On the second or third night of our honeymoon, as I was drifting off to sleep, DH said quite loudly and clearly: "Listen! This is very, very important!"

Now, if your new husband makes that kind of comment at that stage in your marriage, you LISTEN. I was all ears.

Unfortunately it was followed up by "mmmfff...ggglll...hrrrmmm." He was sound asleep.

Most of his sleeptalking seems to be triggered by nightmares, as it involves waking up screaming, "No! No!" and sometimes cursing. (I always hope this will happen when the kids are not in bed with us). However, for variety, sometimes he has engineering dreams (he's a Mech. Eng.) One night recently he said, "This is completely unacceptable!"

Always hoping for more, I asked, "Completely?"

"Well, for one thing," he said, "It's a foot and a half too short!"

ROFL!!! A foot and a half too short. That is bad!

The dreams sound awful though. Nightmares always make me oh, so grateful to be sleeping next to this rock-solid, furnace of a man. :-)

Too bad he couldn't tell you the "very, very important thing." It was probably the cure to cancer. Or maybe 43.

having been to Japan, i believe that the Kyoto Tommy
School Of Driving would have to be the originator of
the aggression. being married for a long time to a
person who talks in their sleep, my experience has
been that you should make up your own satisfactory
meaning to what they say.~paul

I agree about Kyoto Tommy! And about making up my own interpretations.
