Dear John McCain.

I'm a veteran. If you think that veterans "love" you, you are wrong. As a veteran, I don't think you will "take care of" me. I don't think you will "take care of" our military. You said you were proud of your record on veterans affairs.

How about the GI Bill? You opposed it and didn't even bother showing up to vote on it. Read more... )

Amen, sister!

Veterans' issues are really important to me, as I have many friends and family members who are veterans - including my grandfathers and ex-father-in-law (all deceased) who needed the assistance of the VA and at times could not rely on it. I believe that if our country is going to send men & women to war, we'd better offer them (and their families) the best care and support we possibly can when they return.

My medical benefits were cut. While I'm lucky now to have health insurance, for awhile I didn't. I don't know what else will be cut. I'm not going to hold my breath on keeping any of them though, especially if McCain is elected

It is good to see a veteran speak out on the BS that spews from McCain's lips. I was saddened to see how often he played that card last night. I guess when you have little else to talk about, you go with the same old lies.

Thanks for the links that support your comments, it makes for a stronger argument.

You're welcome. He'll always play that card. It's really all he has.

Thank you- I'm going to link to it also, and let my fiance- also a USAF veteran- know about it. We both feel the same as you on this.

Good post. I'm surprised he doesn't get called out on this more often. And for the record, I'm an Army vet, so my advice to yr son is: go USAF! :)

I am too. I'm hoping they start to call him out on it. It needs to be said.

I would love Bobby to join the USAF instead, but his mind is made up
