Sitting at my desk streaming some television. From outside, I hear a noise:

I look out my window, and sure enough there are two cars in a head-on collision at the intersection. They hit each others' right front corners, so one of them was way in the wrong lane, and had to be on their way to the sidewalk. Both

There was a head on collision by my work t'other day. except it was car vs a large landscaping truck. The sort that are bigger than a regular pickup, not as massive as a dumptruck. THOSE.

the landscaping truck was in his lane and had a green light. the other car was totally in wrong lane and hit him oncoming.

There were a lot of pedestrians standing around and yelling at both drivers. it was more a circus than anything. The ambulance did turn up since the station was a block away, but didn't actually take people anywhere.

The reaction of the driver who sped off has to exceed even my considerably high expectations for human stupidity, and that takes some work. Evidently permits aren't quite the effective screening process they're cracked up to be.
