Wilke

Jan 24, 2007 10:52

I think my fitness is kicking in from the Sunmart and Bandera training. My watch memory was full, so I was forced to go off my own memory.

1) 1:59
2) 1:58
3) 1:57
4) 1:55
5) 1:50

My times seem to be very much improved since the last time we did Wilke, but this time around I actually felt "strong" on all the repeats.

*yay*

running, wilke

Oh. My. God. those are awesome!

I always am happy with my run splits until I read yours and traininglog's. *sigh* though, unlike some other people, I am still happy for you.

yes, but I've been running since I was 12 (and no that wasn't just last year ;-) )

Your times have been improving, which is wonderful and that is all that matters!!!

What is wilke? A street probably. Hills? How far?

I don't get in to town much.

Wilke is a road. You take Robert E. Lee and then take a right on Barton Hills Drive. When you get to the elementary school, you take a left on the road called Wilke. You'll see "the hill."

It's about 0.2miles long and between 10% and 12% grade at it's steepest. When you first run Wilke you simply want to focus on good form getting up the hill. As you get used to it, you start working on a nice, steady, strong pace up the hill. :)

It's one of those hill you love to hate.

I found it using Google Earth. Then I measured from the top (Rabb) backward until the distance was about 0.2 miles, so I guess you start your reps at Barton Parkway. Right? Barton Parkway is the road with the strip of grass down the middle.

I'll have to find a way to do this some day.

Yes, you could start fromm Barton Parkway. There is a streetlight there that we usually start from.
