1. When Jim says 'That is so weird' after Gaila's expression of love, it looked like she was going to break it off with him right then and there. Uhura's (un)timely arrival, sadly, leaves this to our imaginations. I like to think she did, though

You raise a really good point about Uhura. She is nothing but professional when she sits in her comm chair. And as to her snide comment, if Bones is allowed to have a line then she can definitely have one. As Bones is boinking Jim, he of all people should have kept quiet.

Bones is a doctor, not a PC enthusiast. Or, uh, up-to-date on the etiquette of How to Talk to the Person You're Boinking When in Public/At Work. LOL

Anyhow, yeah, I really liked that about her. Even when he's having his allergy attack and can hardly talk, and she OBVIOUSLY doesn't like him, she doesn't blow him off or try to help Bones sedate him or whatever. She tries to figure out what he's saying and help him. Oh, Uhura. <3333

I actually watched the deleted scenes the other day... and her initial reaction is more confusion and dismay than anger. She seems very hurt. But she doesn't forgive him.

She's also frowning with her arms crossed at the assembly where Spock tears into Kirk - I think on the commentary someone mentions that she's pretty PO'd at him.
