[Derek studies the vial for a long moment before taking it. He's kind of desperate at this point and Myrnin has been the consummate professional in drawing his blood and working with him. Derek isn't stupid though, he's a little worried about what those risks might be.]

Can you spell out some of those risks for me?

Honestly the best I can guess at is an overload of the senses. Massive headaches because your brain is trying to work too fast. Access to memories but unable to process them because your brain can't process all the information at one time. Maybe an inability to make sense of the memories.

That's all a guess.

[Myrnin sits back in his chair, watching Derek carefully]

Then again it could work perfectly; allow you access to your memories, to make sense of them and make you extremely clear headed.

His finger taps the vial, the only tell-tale sign of the nerves he feels inside, that anxiousness that's been slowly building inside of him since the beginning of this month. He's already lost so much... can he stand to lose more without doing something? The answer to that is no. Derek is a man of action, not one to sit idly by and let this happen, which is why he's here with Myrnin in the first place.]

I shall take care of him. The potion isn't remotely close to certain. I don't know that it will work but at the rate he's deteriorating I think it's our best chance and so does he. It's essentially a toned down version of the serum you gave me. I reformulated it so that he could drink it rather then have it injected directly into his brain.
