A Public Service Announcement

Just in case any of you don't know, splitting a 5mg tablet of Finasteride (Proscar) in four produces 4 maintenance doses NOT theraputic doses.
I wish someone had told me about this a few years ago.

oestrogen-dosage, oestrogen-pills

Can you explain this more? I was splitting 5mg Finasteride into 2 and oddly my T shot up even with spiro backing it.

Basically, it prevents testosterone from converting to DHT (what produces male pattern baldness).
Going by that, we assume that T levels are going to show an increase.
That said, would I like a slightly elevated testosterone or hair loss?
Duh.... :-)

Thanks for raising this though I don't quite follow what you mean. Will taking more finasteride be beneficial?

I'm sure when I first started taking it I read only a small amount was necessary, that hair loss effects would not be reversed, hair follicles would not get bigger, some hair would regrow where they were dormant.

I think my T level is negligible [does the prostate generate much?], I've been taking finasteride for about 11 years and srs was nearly as long ago but hair is still an issue for me and have no medical route to finding current advice. My GP is nice (but dim on things like this).

That's what I was told.
My doctor however, knew different (hence the larger dose).
It has regrown hair for me, but it is undoing years of damage.
So I'm patient

The adrenal glands produce some T in both men and women.
