Hi all,

I tried looking under the tags of surgery and kept getting these posts inquiring about certain surgeons, potential complications post-op, etc... but nothing answering my question.  I know for a fact that this has been asked before but for the life of me, I can't seem to locate that particular post (or posts)...

can give you what helped me: make sure you get lots of snack packs.. (I got a lot of fruit packs and stuff).The first week I slept a lot. I didn't need the pain meds that I was given, but YMMV. I would advise getting a pill cutter to make splitting the pills easier. and maybe a body pillow/backrest. Walk as much as you can .. at least about 30-45 minutes per day.
just what has helped me. and what I experienced over the last 5 weeks.

STOOL SOFTENERS. NOT LAXATIVES. I didn't need stool softeners personally, but pain pills are known to back your pipes up so some people use stool softeners. I can only imagine that laxatives would make your recovery completely miserable.

yes laxatives (or prune juice) I downed half a bottle after 3 or 4 days .

a comfy place to rest, easy entertainment, comfy clothes,
