1) How old are you?
Early 30s

2a) How long have you been on HRT? ..and do you self-administer or do you see a professional for it?
For about 11.5 years pre-op, SRS was one year ago. My HRT is prescribed, but I have a strong influence in my treatment.

2b) After surgery... did you eliminate completely or simply cut down your intake of anti-androgens?
I eliminated Spiro completely... at first. My blood pressure jumped up (spiro's primary function is to lower BP), and because my retinal capilaries were weakened by diabetes, the sudden increase led to them bursting and bleeding out into my vitreous humor. To reduce the effect, I've gone BACK on Spiro, but specifically for the BP effects, not for T-blocking.

3) After surgery... Did you notice any secondary sex characteristics (breast development, etc.) start to develop more or was progress exactly the same as before?
My breasts have increased by at least a cupsize (from a small C to a solid D), but that's coincident to gaining 15-20 pounds, so take that with a grain of salt.

You need a small amount of testosterone, just like any non-trans woman.

yep. testosterone is good for women, it makes you horny and does some other neat stuff; the key is having levels in the right place.

I'm planning on ditching the spironolactone. After all, women normally do have some amount of testosterone in their systems.

I'm also personally not getting my hopes up for any kind of big revolutionary shift in my life or really even in my physical body...maybe my butt & my tits will get a little bigger, but if you're hoping to see a change in your energy levels, a better place to look would probably be your sleeping, eating, & exercising habits, stress levels, etc. Remember, our health involves a LOT more than our endocrine systems, even though we can get really wrapped up in that stuff sometimes. I'm mostly getting my orchi so that I can stop taking spiro & get my gender changed on my passport.

Also, for what it's worth, I had a friend who was on hormones about the same length of time as me (a little less than 2 years at the time) and she had NO breast development at all. I hear that changed after she got her orchi....her system was just kind of stubborn, I guess.

1) 22
2) Almost 4 years, both in the past, I have a legit script but haven't seen a doctor in a year.
2) Totally eliminated my intake of anti-androgens
3) Progress was exactly the same, I guess. Nothing especially interesting in the breast department, but my overall shape (particularly the lower half) has gotten infinitely more feminine since a year and three months ago (when I had surgery).

27

since summer of '06, always seen a doc

I totally cut out all t-blockers (I was on androcur, a synthetic progesterone-like drug that stops t-production by over-stimulating the pituitary gland into thinking I already had too much sex hormones and causing it to cut nearly all LH production... more on that later)

3) After surgery... Did you notice any secondary sex characteristics (breast development, etc.) start to develop more or was progress exactly the same as before?pretty much the same, I was only on HRT for a year prior to surgery, so I was still well in the development phase ( ... )
