Well it's that time of year again you either love, love to hate or are somewhere in the middle of indifference. Valentines day will soon be upon us so my fellow mods and I have decided to throw you a challenge if you're up for it!

Hey there,

I've been watching your community for a while now, and I love the stories that other have posted here. I'm very interested in writing something for your valentines day challenge, but I've never done a challenge before.I know how to do the tags and the page cut, I'm just not sure where to post it and when can I post it? Also, do I need to be a member of the community to put my story in? If so that's fine too.

It helps to be a member. Once you're a member you can usually click at the top of the page 'post to community'. Just make sure to include a header stating title, author, rating, warnings etc and obviously tag for the challenge and put the main fic behind an LJ cut. You can post a challenge entry any time between now and the 1st of March.

Any recommendations on maximum words. I've not done a challenge before, and my draft seems really long, I've yet to write it's ending too. I might have to come up with another story if it is too long.

There's no such thing as a maximum, though LJ does have it's own word limit per post - somewhere around 7 - 10k words I think (don't quote me on that). :) Personally, I'm all for the long fics, you're welcome to post it in parts if you wish too as long as both are posted before the deadline :3

Cool. I did try and look up to see if LJ had a max word count. I'm currently on 8,900 words so I think I might try and carry out a bit of editing before posting in parts.
