Everyone, we have one matter we really need to work on resolving, especially since we don't know when Stacy may release the next set of crew members

I'm sorry, but it's hard to believe I'm actually reading some of the things being said here.
I don't care if someone paid money for her back in their world, but that poor girl isn't property, she's a person! She's a living, breathing being that had something unimaginably cruel done to her for the sake of someone else's selfishness, and how can anyone possibly condone that
( ... )
All right, then. I'm a little unsure as to how that would work, but I believe you.
If you have absolutely no doubt in your mind that a decision that this clone is property could not have ramifications and will not set a dangerous precedent, then there is no sense in arguing this further. I can't say I share that point of view, and neither do the cloned individuals on this ship who I've spoken with.
All the more so given that we have the medical technology on this ship that she isn't needed.
I can provide you with an explanation, if you would like, in person. It's nothing that I am ashamed of, or wish to keep from others on the ship, but the details beyond what I've already given do not pertain to this particular discussion.
I do respect your opinion, Miss Takamachi, even if I do not agree with it.
Miss Takamachi, do not think that I don't know the situation. I do. Kon-El? One of those who found Mei-Xing's clone?
He's my clone. And I treat him as family, no matter what. I've lost him once and I'd be damned if I would lose him again.
But, as it stands, as Councilman Kang said, there's no way of knowing if we can actually revive this girl and have her live as a person. As well, this is also a means of allowing Mei-Xing to live. For now.
And as I said, I refuse to let anyone on this ship to treat any others lesser than they are. We're all equal on this ship. This is how I've been raised, this is how some of my world worked and this is how I will make sure things work here.
And the other person who found Mei-Xing's clone is my closest friend and partner. She and our adopted daughter were both born in a program to create clones.
If you say that you refuse to let anyone be treated as a lesser... have you spoken with Kon about it? Did you look him in the eyes as he told you about what he'd seen? Do you really have any idea how the existence of this poor girl hurts people like him and Fate? Even if you're going to say that you'd make sure nobody's rights were lessened, that still doesn't change the message they get! It doesn't change how it comes across to them!
Mei-Xing can live like all the rest of us can - without keeping another human being in agony. Either way, she should be put in the care of Medical, rather in the care of someone who wouldn't think twice about her well-being.
Yes, I do. I know how they're feeling right now. When the Nightmare King attacked all those months ago, I saw it. Dozens upon dozens of clones. All created by one of my deadliest foes for his own sick pleasure. Many of them were killed, either by his orders or his own hands. If it wasn't a dream, if there was something I could have done right then and there, I'd save them just as I helped save Kon.
But, as it stands, if there is something we can do to save the clone, we would have, but as we've said, it's brain dead. Not even a Superman can perform a miracle like that.
If it comes to it, though? We can let Stacy settle the problem.
If you knew how they were feeling right now, you'd know that this shouldn't even be a debate! This isn't a dream created by the Nightmare King, it's something real that people are deciding on - and if they decide one way, it will make the people precious to both of us feel like their lives don't matter. And you know it.
If we can't save her, then we can take her out of Mei-Xing's control. She isn't property, no matter her condition.
Or else we're effectively saying that slavery and the owning of others is perfectly fine.
Are you willing to use up precious resources, resources we barely have enough of, to try to save the life of someone who may never waken or even function properly?
I know I've been told I've been idealistic. Believe me, there is so much stuff I wish I could do to make everyone happy.
But, at the same time, there are just things that cannot be done. I want to save this life, but even I know something like this cannot be done.
Does it really matter if I am? Even if I'm not, she uses the exact same amount of resources lying catatonic whether she's in the care of the Medical department or in the possession of Mei-Xing and being held for organs.
Maybe we can't save her. Maybe there isn't a point in trying. But if it comes to that, the least we can do is to protect her from being abused further.
I think I've been seeing this the wrong way. And I don't think "yelling" over the comms will help much. You think you'd be willing to speak face to face?
