An overlord training? No, never. [Open]

Oct 28, 2011 02:18

Pram hated the concept behind training. It never went well with her image as "the youngest overlord with growing power." She was supposed to be a genius! The smart one that controlled others through her fake oracle future-reading. But ever since she had came out of the pods during the pod release before the most recent one, her Mana Power hadn't ( Read more... )

Demons? And not the 'good' kind from the looks of it. Rin made a grab for his sword almost instantly when he saw them attacking the girl he had met the week prior but stopped as soon as the room went back to normal...

Right... these things where used like virtual reality. But she seemed pretty frustrated still and as such, Rin took a moment to cool his head and walk in a bit more before speaking.

"Hey, are you alright?"

Pram whirled around to see the familiar stupid guy standing at the doorway.

"Wha--?!" She was about to blurt out all the questions that popped up right then, but managed to catch herself by clearing her voice and turn away again.

"Oh, it's you." She managed to reply after she calmed herself down. "What do you want?"

"I was just seeing if you were alright. That was a whole lot of demons but it looked like you had it all covered."

But she still looked upset, at least till she calmed down.

He looked around and raised a brow, checking the area that was now blank.

"Was that your world or?"

"Pfft! I can take care of those low-ranking demons even if I'm a baby." Pram replied, brushing her hair away with a sigh. "I don't need anyone protecting me."

So said someone who had her butt protected by a warrior during that time the Ohm attacked. But this kid didn't know about that, so she didn't need to talk about it.

"...Something like that." She answered the latter question. She did own it, after all. "Something I cared less of before."

"You need some Mana?"

Ruffnut had come in on the tail end of the simulation and heard the last part "I know a guy who's great with that stuff. He's even taught me how to use it sorta." She smiled cheerfully. Clearly she had no idea who she was talking to.

That was when Pram realized that the door was still kept open. She really needed to make sure the door stayed shut while she practiced.

"Oh you do, do you?" She asked, hands folded across her chest as she looked over at the newcomer. "And who would be this person that taught you 'sorta'?"

Ruff grinned a little cheeky, "He's Overlord Zetta, great guy about this by this." She used her hands to mime out Zetta's size, "Probably one of the smartest guys on the ship too."

"How is Zetta one of the smartest guys on the ship?!" Pram shrieked. "But he's one of the most stupid overlords in the cosmos!"

Terry had been watching the demon-fighting for a while from the doorway. He didn't know who this girl was, but he had always found it interesting to watch other people's train sessions. It gave him ideas for his own, on how to keep from fighting the same projected mooks over and over in the same way.

When the scenery and monsters disappeared, Terry could help but say: "Y'know, if you just cut off your training like that, you're never going to get anywhere."

As soon as the words were out of his mouth, he groaned. Whether he admitted it or not, his time on the ship was forcing him to grow up. And he didn't like how old he felt saying things like that.

Pram made a mental note never to leave the door open ever again: who knows how many people would end up sneaking around the next time...

"Hmph! They're my memories, how I do with them is my business!" She said, twirling around to face the stranger, her hands on her hips. "It doesn't matter anyways, as long as my Mana Power grows, I'll be as strong as I want."

Talk about being mature for the age. Pram was probably at least a thousand years old and she was still acting like a brat.

How old was this girl? Terry was wondering. Because she was pretty small, and was acting a lot like his kid brother.

"I don't know what 'Mana Power' is," he said, "but I'm still pretty sure that to be as strong as you want, it does take work. I mean, you were just shouting about how you didn't have enough power or whatever."

"Hmph, I'm not some kind of Action RPG character that mysteriously learns new spells by gaining experience." Pram replied, folding her arms across her chest. "I'm supposed to have more Mana Power. I was one of the Overlords other overlords feared!"

Tim was a fan of the Sensoriums himself, using them as a place to train quite frequently. Unfortunately, he hadn't realised that this particular room was in use before he had entered, and he stopped quite quickly once he did, making no sudden moves forward or in retreat. He didn't want to disrupt.

However, he was drawn to stay when he saw who it was in there, and what, exactly, she was doing. After she had proclaimed not wanting to train, even. Tim's look was maybe a little smug, but he stayed silent until the scene went blank.

"Magic-wise, it's more than I could do," Tim said carefully. He didn't want to chase her off like he did last time, but he was certainly curious.

Pram whirled around at the voice, caught completely off-guard at the intrusion. She swore she closed the door shut this time... Apparently she didn't. Not to mention she was caught by someone who she complained about how stupid it was to train.

"I should be able to do more than this!" She said in a huff, words running along with her frustration. "I'm supposed to be stronger than this."

She just wanted to summon a huge dragon made out of ice...

"So you keep working," Tim said, voice suddenly a bit more serious. He nodded to her and he stepped a bit further into the room, now that the scene she'd set was gone. "If you feel you 'ought' to be at a specific level, then you have to use that to drive yourself to do more. If you can't accept anything less of yourself then don't."

The sudden seriousness made Pram clam up, pouting as she balled her hands into fists as she quietly fumed to herself. She hated being looked down upon, it always made her feel so little. If this were when her, as well as other overlord's, Netherworlds still existed, she would have no trouble beaten the other overlords up when they looked down at her. But her Netherworld was gone.

"What's the point..." She muttered with a sigh. Was she sulking? Yes.
