"Happy. Happy. Fun World. Good god. It sounds like bad engrish gone amuck," Mindy mumbled to herself. "Oh well. I've done my training for the past few days. I guess I DID tell Morgan I'd relax."
That, and she could use this opportunity to maybe go somewhere with Ruffnut. It was CALLED Happy happy fun world. Maybe it was like Coney Island? They could find something to do together.
"What's popcorn?" Ruff seemed to materialize out of thin air behind Mindy in one of those rare occasions where the trained assassin didn't hear her coming.
"It's something you get when you pop kernels," Mindy said, thinking about the treat. "It's kinda hard to describe its sort of a crunchy, fluffy snack, and you can have it in all of these different flavors and stuff. It's actually pretty good."
She patted Ruffnut's back. She had heard about the recent fall out and was concerned. "You all right Ruff?"
"Huh." Ruff sounded only vaguely interested and she grumbled, "The stupid tower was kicking my ass all day. I think the ghosts are mad at me." She turned her face to show a red mark from where she fell on her face...after being knocked down the stairs. Massive rugburn.
"...Happy Happy Fun World?" It reminded Aftran of that cartoon Karen's parents never let her watch, and that annoyingly addictive song, "Happy Happy Joy Joy".
"That sounds like fun! Have you ever heard of it?" Standing beside Aftran, Karen tugged on her sleeve and looked up.
Aftran glanced down at the smaller girl. "Not until today." She wanted to warn Karen to keep her guard up, but she honestly didn't have the heart to hurt the girl's feelings these days. Not after all she'd been through.
"With a name like that, it has to be fun, right?" Sam walked up behind Aftran and Karen, smiling. It was a little strained, honestly, because...well, he didn't trust a name like that. It wasn't that he was paranoid. It was just that there'd been too much out to get them since they'd woken up on this ship.
He hid the misgivings and grinned down at Karen. "What do you think, kiddo?"
Aftran stepped back a little awkwardly to give them some room, and Karen grinned up at Sam. "Yeah! Shore leave's that thing where we just get to hang out, right? So a planet named that has to be really fun!"
"Yeah, pretty much. Though I don't think this is going to be like other shore leaves." Amusement park planet. So many things that could go wrong there. "I mean, it's like Disneyland, only...a lot bigger, I think."
He glanced at Aftran, mostly taking in the protective stance that she'd had with Karen before looking back to the girl. "What do you think? Do you and Aftran want to hang out with Dean and Tom and I? You can meet our friend Castiel." Well, if they could talk the angel into coming to the planet. It might not be that hard.
"That can't be what it's really called." Daniel muttered. He took of his glasses, cleaned them, and checked again. The words didn't change. Happy Happy Fun World blazed proudly on the screens, followed by miscellaneous information on the planet. Maybe Stacy's screens malfunctioned. At least, he hoped so, because who named their homeworld that kind of name.
Still, another shore leave, and another chance to get out, stretch his legs without an actual mission. Beggars couldn't be choosers.
Now that he had a few hours to stew over the damaged mummy, Daniel thought he was ready to see Vala again. And so, apparently, was she. She came out of nowhere. Daniel blinked, surprised at the casual touch and just how familiar she was with him, and then politely removed her arm. She was probably going to break his shoulder next or something if left to her own devices.
Yeah. He might not be over the damaged artifact just yet.
"That's true, but it's an terrible name. Personally," Daniel said. "I think something's wrong with Stacy's screens." He looked her over. "You got cleared for shore leave?"
"Absolutely." Vala beamed in response, clearly eager. It would appear Vala was as accustomed to Daniel rejecting her from his personal space as she was to invading it. The removal of her arm passed with barely a blink.
"Granted it's a little tacky but...wait, what did getting cleared for shore leave entail exactly?"
Aya was just staring at one of the screens in utter disbelief.
"Who names a planet 'Happy Happy Fun World'?" she protested, folding her arms over her chest. "And popcorn? This is some kind of joke, right? I get half the people I meet saying that being on this ship is dangerous and then I get told about... about... POPCORN being the most dangerous thing I have to encounter right off the bad?"
"Lady, It's shore leave. It's not supposed to sound dangerous. But the first time we had shore leave was the first time we faced the Ohm, and last time we had it people's ages started being reversed towards non-existence. So if this one ends up being stress free? It'll be a freakin' miracle"

She started getting ready.

Besides, Stacy had said it was shore leave...
