Pods, Heat, and the Hawk's Eye [Open]

Oct 08, 2011 12:33

Ankh's first concern was gathering information about this place; the hawk candroid was already flying around where it would and he'd follow it to anything useful later. His next concern then, was returning to the pod caverns. It would be easier to do after all the new crew members had settled, and so he had to wait, no matter how pissed off it made ( Read more... )

For all the shit Ankh gave him, Cazali was still able to hold himself up pretty well, all things considered. Maybe in part because he had taken to observing his fellow Greeed just as much as the ship's denizens, but that was simple paranoia. He had to be sure Ankh wasn't going to ambush him, after all.

Sitting on a higher level of the walkway, Caz watched with mild confusion as Ankh pitched his usual temper tantrum, but the nature of what the hell he was looking for was the puzzling part. OOOs? Why? Ankh had said it himself- he didn't need OOOs to fight if he was at 'full' power. Maybe to eliminate him before he awoke...?

Regardless of the whys and the whats, Cazali remained seated, watching and making no motion to make his presence known. Not that he was being particularly stealthy, but he'd let Ankh work to figure out he was here.

Ankh certainly didn't notice; he had his right arm in front of him across his chest and was flexing his fingers. And in another burst of anger, he kicked at something (or nothing) on the ground.

He turned back towards the pods as if to keep searching, when the Hawk Can came flying past Cazali and down towards Ankh giving a few robotic squawks hat led him to immediately jerk his head up towards Caz's location.

"--Hey! What the hell are you doing here?!" Code for: gtfo.

Caz scoffed, shifting on the edge of the walkway to lean on his arms, giving a sarcastic wave in the process.

"Hanging out~"

...he couldn't help that one, seriously. Cazali shifted, rolling his head for emphasis, before gesturing out at the cavern. "My offer still stands~ You know I'm a better tracker than you are."

Ankh ticked his tongue in aggravation and looked away. Now only was that stupid, it was Cazali. He held out his hand for the Hawk can to land in as it folded itself back into a can and tucked it into his jacket, glaring up at Cazali once more.

"Screw off! I'm not so stupid that I'm going to fall for that! We both know you're not really here to help, so get out of here!"

He might've still been a little angry. Just maybe.

A brightly-colored parrot landed on a pod nearby Ankh, briefly smoothing one of its feathers before peering down at him. After a brief pause, in which the bird seemed to be sizing Ankh up, Alan spoke.

"Stuuuupid."

Ankh jerked his head when he saw the flutter of bright colors. For a minute he just sort of...stared at the bird. That was a bird, right?

A bird that was...insulting him. Not, exactly what he wanted nor expected when he came here. He started calming down just by the sheer confusion of that-is-a-bird-and-it-is-insulting-him. "What...the hell..?!"

The bird looked smugly at him from atop the pod (yes, that look definitely had a sort of smug avian component to it). "I'm the great wunderkind!"

This last was said in a female voice. Lash's voice, but maybe Ankh wouldn't know to recognize that.

"Wunderkind...?" What the heck was a wunderkind? And why was the bird suddenly speaking in a female voice?

After a moment of staring in bewilderment, Ankh had switched to glaring slightly at the bird. "Huh. Get out of here, you freak," and he attempted to wave the bird away with his right hand.

"And what are you doing?" A voice asked behind him. You might recognize it sounding exactly like the voice the parrot had taken just a while ago.

Why the hell was that stupid parrot back Oh wait a minute that's not a parrot. A fact Ankh immediately discovered when he quickly turned around angrily and noticed the presence of hair and a lack of feathers.

"--Oh." He was a bit stalled by the fact that she wasn't a bird. "None of your business."

"Probably not," she replied back, swinging back and forth, "but that never stopped me from doing anything before." Lash worked with the likes of Hawke, perfect poker face and guy who hated fun, after all. She was used to the grumpy guys. It was then that Lash pointed to his hand. "That's pretty cool, by the way. Does it fire lasers or guns or something?"

Look, a compliment!

Her answer kind of got a mix of a confused and a curious look on his face. Was she gonna be another one of those people that poked their nose into everyone's business?

Ankh followed her pointing to his right hand and held it up for examination, quirking an eyebrow at her question. "No," He answered simply, and he extended his hand out to the side to shoot another burst of fire into the air from his fingertips.
