If someone were to walk into the Sensoriums right now, they could expect a drop right into a pool of warm water. If and when they reach the surface, they'll find themselves surrounded by lush, tropical scenery. A waterfall pours gently into the pool, flowering palm trees surround them, a rather large man's painting the scene, fish flutter in the ( Read more... )

Well, that had been unexpected. Miku had gone to the sensoriums to try her hand at making a mille-feuille cake. Though she and Steve had their share of cake after her release, there was something to be said about the, um, quality of her boyfriend's baking.

She broke the surface, coughing and sputtering, her bangs plastered to her face like some kind of terrible Ringu parody.

"Wha...Wha..." she coughed water up again and paddled to the edge of the pool, looking distinctly pitiful.

Apollo winces as he gets a good look at her and decides to set his paints down. He walks towards Miku, staying on the surface of the water, and holds a hand down for her. "Come on. Let's get you to solid ground like that. I'm sorry, I hadn't been expecting company."

He certainly sounds apologetic enough, though his face seems to be fighting amusement. It can't be helped, Miku looks ridiculous all wet like that.

"I'm very sorry," Miku apologized to his apology. "I just wasn't looking where I was going, and..." she sputtered as she took his hand. "I'm so sorry!"

Miku pushed her hair out of her eyes and gave Apollo a pitiful look.

He stares at her for a moment, then bursts out laughing. It can't be helped, Miku looks like a soaked kitten like this. And her constant apologies...

After a few seconds, he peters out and shakes his head. "No, wait. You've got nothing to apologize for. You're the one who just had the accident." He snaps his fingers, summoning up a large, fluffly towel, and hands it over to her. It's big enough for Apollo, so it could probably wrap all the way around Miku. "Here. I'm sorry."

Angie's getting used to walking in on strange things in the Sensoriums. Which is about the only reason she didn't drop into the water. First feeling of falling and certain subroutines kicked into gear to keep her up. Which meant that, for the moment, it looked like there was a silver woman walking on water.

The voice was unexpected and Angie's eyes widened. Or, rather, the duplicate's because it was patently obvious to anybody with eyesight as good as Apollo's that the eyes were silvered over. She held out her hand, one finger up. "Hold that thought," she ordered him, then turned around and headed out of the Sensorium.

He watches the duplicate leave, and shakes his head a little. He manages to do a few more brush strokes before setting his paints and brush down carefully, and taking two large steps to the right.

Then, he braces himself for the greeting that will be coming.

Like she could actually bowl him over. Still, it probably wasn't a bad idea to put the paints down.

It still takes another couple of minutes before the doors open and the real Angie comes through. She does hold back a bit, but it's still a lot of metal weight that hits Apollo as she wraps around him in a hug. "Apollo!"

Apollo's been tackled harder. Angie still has nothing on a six year old's 'I missed you' tackle.

"Me!" He wraps his arms around her and grins. "I thought you would have found me by now. But it wasn't like I could let you have free run of this ship forever."

The warning comes too late for Kai. Ever since waking up on the meatship, things have been too quiet. It's a hell of a shame, because he'd heard about that possession thing that had caused a lot of trouble, but despite his best efforts, he hadn't been able to find it.

So, he's decided to check out the sensoriums in hopes of finding something to get his adrenaline going and get his mind off his current situation.

Unfortunately...the modifications in Kai's body are made of metal.

Metal sinks.

As he falls into the pool with a gigantic splash, Kai lets out a muffled cry that is half surprised exclamation and half curse. He finds himself sinking and sinking and sinking until he finally hits the bottom. Anyone looking into the pool will not see Kai come up for air.

(His sunglasses, which fell off during the drop, hit the surface of the water a second after him with a quiet, anticlimactic plop.)

Apollo stares quietly for a moment. When he realizes that Kai's not coming coming up, he sets his things down and walks on the surface of the water to peer down.

...Well. He really isn't coming up. Apollo frowns and lets himself sink a little, reaching down to snag Kai. Getting a firm grip on the back of the man's plantsuit, he straightens and flies up, giving them about five feet of air between their air and the water.

Now he peers down at Kai, blinking. He looks concerned at least? "You okay?" He would probably be better if you hadn't taken your time, Apollo.

He's coughing, but Kai actually seems more all right than you would expect. He is less gasping for air and more staring in shock at the fact that this man is flying.

"What the hell are you doing?! How -- how are you -- !"

(In his world, the closest thing to a superpower was technological modifications. Also, Apollo may notice that Kai is far heavier than he looks.)
