The Story of My Life [semi-open, before Darksoul]

Tana had ended up, during her walk around the ship, inside weapons and possessions. There was a little locker with her things in it, and she hadn't really gone through them there. She tossed them into her purse, and brought them to the obs deck for further inspection ( Read more... )

Superman had seen the message Kon had left on the comms. A quick check did confirm he was right - Tana was alive. For some reason, he was surprised at it. Oh, sure, he's come back to life, Luthor's come back from the dead, but someone like Tana? Then again, it was Stacy...

"I didn't know they still made those kinds of phones." he said, noticing the phone as he hovered over head.

Tana couldn't stop the guilt jerk of her body as she put the phone back in her lap. "Oh my God, it's you."

Probably not her best opening line, but considering her other run-ins with Superman had been because Superboy was in dire straits, could she be blamed? "Sorry, hi." She looked a little sheepish. "It was brand-new when I got it. Good to see you, Superman."

Superman held back a chuckle at her reaction. No need to taunt the still confused woman. Even on accident.

"You should see the ones later on." he said, trying to make small talk. "Are you feeling alright, though? I'm... sure you've heard about what happened..."

Tana looked down at her lap for a second and nodded, "I think I'm as alright as someone expects to be when they learn everything they've known is gone. And also that they're dead."

She looked up and shrugged a bit. "But, I imagine it could be worse, so I think I'll be okay." She wasn't exactly a shrinking violet, after all. "I guess now I have to find a different niche than 'nosy reporter'." Tana smiled a little bit at Superman.

Having finished her Security duties for the day, Jeka set upon her self-assigned mission to locate Superboy's first girlfriend and introduce herself. It would certainly make keeping an eye on her easier.

After a little bit of searching (and a brief wish that her Brainy was still awake so that she could have him try to locate Tana Moon's omnicomm), she finally found the human on the Obs Deck, playing with some sort of electronic device. She double-checked the picture that Kon had given her to confirm, then tucked her omnicomm away.

It still took her a few moments to get up the nerve to approach.

"Excuse me," she began politely, "you are Tana Moon, correct?"

Tana hit the end button and glanced up, surprised that someone knew her name. It wasn't like she'd exactly had time to chat up a lot of people, after all. But a giant, part-snake lady was a bit different than what Tana had been expecting.

"I... I am. And you are?"

"Jeka Wynzorr," Jeka answered, hesitantly putting out her hand. "I'm a teammate of Superboy's. He said that you needed a room in the crew quarters, I thought I'd offer the empty half of mine."

Points for being friendly, if nervous, Jeka. Tana took her hand and shook it firmly. "It's nice to meet you, Miss Wynzorr." So, it looked like Kon's protective bubble was spreading out further than his reach. It rankled, but that wasn't Jeka's fault.

"Thank you very much, I'd be glad to." Not sleeping in that... creepy, fleshy capsule bed would be a nice change. Tana smiled to put Jeka at ease as her other hand put the phone back in the purse. "How long have you known the Kid?"
