Down on the surface of the planet Zokez II, Stacy's erstwhile (and hopefully much more relaxed) crew began receiving messages over their comm rings and omnicoms

Xander has a snack food stuffed in his mouth as he ran back to the site. Got plenty of goodies to hold against the slop for now. Better yet, he had some good supplies for rebuilding in the City. Still shame to leave.
Euphie was disappointed, but she didn't want to be left behind. She hurried back, now dressed in somewhat normal clothes over her plantsuit rather than the jumbled mess she'd worn when setting foot onto the planet, and inadvertently bumped into Xander as she rounded a corner.
What is it with cute anime girls and Xander? XDthexanwhoseesJune 20 2010, 14:57:32 UTC
Xander blinked, and nearly choked on his food. As it was, it took a few minutes of turning red in the face and trying not to cough chunks of food everywhere before he recovered.
"Whoa. Ok, all good here, everything's normal. Carry on! Uh, hi?"
He's just that goodgenocidingJune 20 2010, 20:01:25 UTC
"Oh, no!" He didn't seem well at all. Euphie hoped she hadn't hurt him by bumping him. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry!"
He seemed fine now, though, but she couldn't help blushing in embarrassment. "Hello. Are you headed back to Stacy also?" Silly question, but she was good at silly questions.
There was a whooshing sound as Nathan promptly zoomed in and landed at the site. As much as he enjoyed the needed break. Especially a chance to stretch his wings as it were, it was time to get back. There was still a great deal to do, and things to deal with as it looked with some of the comms he had seen. A thankless job at times, but a necessary one, and he was good at it.
"Putting the cake in the truck," the Scientist responded. He actually had a seat belt wrapped quite carefully around the very large cake box. Luckily Stephen was skinny and Renne was tiny, and that meant that they'd all fit happily in the cab. The cake itself was fragrant enough that Renne could easily find his way into the passenger seat by smell, and Stephen had plans on getting him situated.
Stephen hadn't gotten nearly as much stuff as he'd wanted, but he had enough to make a good start on refinishing his lab on Stacey. And there was plenty of room in the truck bed still, if they passed anyone on the way back who also needed a ride.
Anyone needed a lift and recognized Renne? Stick yer thumb out!
"Dragon? What?" Let's parse this for a couple of moments. After all, he was very close to the truck and it was idling--oh, wait then! "Oh! No, it's the pickup truck I borrowed from Stacy. It's a vehicle. Uh, a chariot that sort of drives itself." Stephen would try to wax poetic, but he wasn't a poet and that would only end in tears when he confused Renne further. He tried to keep it simple.
"It's called a truck. This is going to get us where we're supposed to be going. And your cake, too."
It had taken a little cajoling and outright begging, but Miku had been able to convince the hotel staff to let her into Steve's room so that she could pack up his belongings. It was one thing to have to leave with no souvenirs, it was another to lose all of his possessions.
And with as bad as his vacation (and thus, her own) had turned, it would be rubbing salt in the wound to lose everything, too. And then possibly pouring vinegar on it, Miku was sure. She rolled the little anti-gravity cart onto the deck, unloaded it with the ridiculous efficiency she had, and sat down beside her little pile of luggage. Miku's face looked drawn and somber, the way a day and a night of little sleep and much worry could.
She hesitated, glancing up once to meet Nanoha's eyes. To tell, or to remain silent. It wasn't her place to go talking about Steve and Steve's Condition. In fact, Miku was sure that even talking about it was a great, big, fat NO. She shifted in her seat beside the luggage.
"I... It..." she breathed deeply and looked at her knees. "It's nothing, Nanoha-chan. I'll be fine."
Nanashi was... well, a little excited to get back to the ship. She was planning to start Katara's training, and Ed would start teaching her alchemy. She was full of blood too- she had enjoyed a feast with Sam, so much that she would not have to feed for at least two weeks. She had also obtained plenty of blood for the ship too. Sam had obtained plenty of animal blood, Nanashi had even used the majority of her allowance to bribe blood off of humans while Sam. It was most definitely enough for a year- if she was the only one drinking it, and she used it sparsely. Still, the human blood they had would last a while, and she was fortunate that she was one of the few vampires left that did not get sick from drinking animal blood.
Still, she was at least just a little disappointed. It was nice to actually be able to hunt, even if she had to be careful to not get caught. She had drank so much though that now, as she walked onto the ship, she practically looked human. Her lips were red, her skin was flushed pink. She had some colour to her.

Katara wished for the vacation to last a little longer, but she knew that any longer would have been wasteful, that the longer she stayed unaware would be bad for her. But for now, she had gotten what she wanted from the vacation: she'd spent time with her brother, danced in a nightclub, shopped with a new BFF and even had some time at the beach! She felt fresh, invigorated and ready to take on new things with a clearer head. Her body felt awake, like she'd gotten it out of torpor and was gaining understanding of her limbs all over again.
So when she spotted Nanashi, the first things she did was trot to the older vampire and give her a hug. She felt by now that she could be that sincere, even if Nanashi did think it was a sign of weakness.
When they trained, her actions would be much different. She knew that much.
"Your highness!" she said smiling. "Did you enjoy your vacation?"

Nanashi heard Katara running up to her and half turned into the hug. She returned it gladly, picking her up and spinning her as if she was a doll. "Katara!" She smiled brightly at the young girl, as she set her down, "I had a wonderful time!"
Nanashi was clearly in a much better mood than the last time they had spoken. "And how are you? Are you ready to start sword training?" She beamed, having gotten a chance to get Katara a katana, but she was not about to announce it until they got back to the ship. She thought it might be a good present at the start of her training.

Katara was definitely not expecting to be swing around in the air like that. It was...a little bit like Carol, although she hadn't gotten to see her that much, but this definitely made up for it. She let out a happy yelp, then kicked her feet up lightly in the air before touching down, grinning. "Me too! I danced in a club and everything! I even have clothes that can glow when everything's all dark! It's the most amazing thing!"
At the mention of training, Katara's demeanor changed a little. She nodded, her eyes focused, her smile a little less warm but no less put on. "I've had fun, but yes, I'm ready to start training with you. There's still a lot that I have to learn, and this trip was so I could gather my bearings. I would be honored to learn from you."
