Tex was, by this point, pretty sick and tired of being intangible. It wasn't like it was the first time she had done it-Blood Gulch had given her practice-but that didn't mean she had to like not being solid for a long time. It got in the way of actually being able to do things ( Read more... )

I can't remember if the last time they talked, that Chris mentioned he met Grif... hero_sting February 16 2010, 04:56:36 UTC
Chris at this point of his life was sick and tired of all the dreams he has been having. Wanting to get his mind off of his problems was the main reason why he was in the sensoriums. He just needed something to vent at. Spying Tex in full armor, he gave her a small wave.

"Hey. Came here to train too, Tex?"

Tex gave a small nod of greeting. "This isn't real training. Just keeping myself sharp."

She gestured with her head towards a ridge before starting off again. "If you're following, try to keep up."

Chris nodded in a thoughtful tone. If there was one thing he knew about Tex, it's the fact that she seemed to be mostly business. Getting her upset would practically guarantee a shortened life.

He followed silently after a brief transformation to Kamen Rider Sting.

Tex led the way to the ridge, crouching down as she peered over it. On the plain below was more snow, more ice, an outpost-looking building of some stripe or another-and a lot of very bored-looking people in blue armor. Most of them seemed to be involved in some kind of bickering or whining.

Tex, meanwhile, was checking her rifle. "Don't make too much noise. Most of them aren't that bright, but they can still hear," she noted quietly.

There's cold coming out of the sensorium.

Grif isn't a fan of cold. He's a fan of cool, sure, but he's spent the last three years of his life plus his time on the ship in relatively high temperature environments. So when he passes one of the sensoriums and can feel the difference through his armor a bit, he decides to complain.

"Who's the genius who turned the cold on?" he yells to the chamber at large, taking a step inside.

"Me." Tex rises from a temporary crouch to peer at him from her place among the rocks, her rifle still held in a decidedly threatening position. "Got a problem with it?"

Grif makes a very tiny "eep" noise, but straightens.

"Oh. It's you." He's rapidly backpedaling at a thousand miles an hour in his head right now and veeeery tempted to flee.

"What is wrong with you?"

While his brain's busy freaking out, his mouth does what it does best. Snark.

Tex continues to stare at him with the business end of the rifle pointed in his direction. "Nothing's wrong with me. This is a simulation of Sidewinder. It's supposed be cold."
