"I would not attempt to reach that thing."

A little distance away, Sheik stood, arms crossed, somewhat more natural-looking red eyes narrowed. Ever since he had met with the Seer, he had taken to keeping a careful eye on Escherville, watching for anyone who may attempt to disrupt things before the time was right.

Now, it seemed, someone was trying.

"Apparently it can slip inside the heads of others easily," he shrugged. "You do not wish for that, do you?"

Kazuya made no movement regarding Shiek. If he had not spoken, it may have appeared he had either dozed off or not heard the newcomer. As it was though, his voice was as icy and bereft of emotion as ever.

"Plenty of room for more."

"Oh. Someone already there? It could get crowded, I suppose."

This time he opened his glowing red eye, offering a sort of half-lidded glare. "Trust me. I can handle myself. Besides, how else are we going to know what we're dealing with?"

With the warning markers she had planted here and there running at only a low level, checking on whatever had entered range of Escherville wasn't on Roxie's top list of priorities. Still, it left her curious when whatever the triggering presence was didn't go away, and so she took a little time out of her busy day to come by.

"It's not a good idea to stare into the darkness too long. The darkness might look back at you."

Oh great. Her. She was quickly becoming a nuisance and annoyance to Kazuya, and he didn't take kindly to annoyances.

"That is the general idea," he said flatly, not opening his eyes or otherwise acknowledging Roxie's presence.

"Your eagerness to die or be corrupted into something beyond recognition perplexes me."

She moves forward, checking that none of the collapsed, warded entrances into the deeper areas of Escherville have been violated.
