Turkey Day!

Nov 25, 2009 23:06

'Twas the day of Thanksgiving, and all through the meatship's cafeteria, real, well-cooked food was laid out on the table. Turkey, gravy, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and a myriad of other foods had been prepared by Chef Stoppable.

"FOOD!" It takes everything Bart's got not to jump right in and eat ALL of it. He hovers over it and looks up at Ron. "How much can I have?"

Bart considered it. "All of it!"

"...Yeah, you're not allowed to do that. Uh, maybe about a tenth of it?"

The appetizing smells coming from the cafeteria are an irresistible lure for a certain young Scot, and he pokes his head in to see what's going on. His eyes widen as he takes in all of the food, and he quickly steps into the room to get a better look.

"What's this for?" Jamie had not actually meant to say that out loud, so the question's not actually directed at anyone in particular.

"Dude, Thanksgiving." Yes, Ron doesn't know they don't have that in Scotland.

"Thanksgiving." Jamie tries the word out for size while he tries to think of what it is. Saying it doesn't really help, but maybe if he goes for the obvious... "So, ye are giving thanks, then?" Makes some sort of sense, given the word. Then his expression lights up. "Oh. Is this a giving thanks for the real food?"

Well, at least he didn't say 'Oh, aye, that' this time.

Something in Ron's brain clicks. Unfortunately, it's the wrong thing, because he assumes Jamie is from a world that doesn't have Thanksgiving.

"It's for giving thanks in general. It's a holiday where I'm from, and if I'm right it's supposed to be roughly today, so I figured I'd use the real food a cook a feast to boost crew morale and all that."

Xander had been trying to fix things up in the city, but the wonderful smells coming from the cafeteria caught his attention.

Food! Real food!

"Sweet mama jamma, this is real?" You better believe the one eyed Slayerette was grabbing a plate to load up!

"Man, I love you."

Xander then paused to add, "In a totally manly, platonic kind of way."

Samus is still confused about Thanksgiving, but has found the celebration. She is holding up a plate of turkey trying to figure out what it is. Someone should probably let her know it's poultry before before she takes a bite.

Food food food food food! Real food! Scout's still got the metabolism of a teenage boy and will be busy trying to see if he can break his previous record for most food shoved into his mouth at once. He's getting close.
