TARDIS Spring Cleaning (after Darksoul possession/Jamie-talk)

Jan 29, 2011 05:04

Several days after being possessed and the Doctor’s convinced he needs to do some spring cleaning. Or at least some kind of cleaning. Probably should have done it awhile ago, come to think of it, but things kept coming up. Things do that, so he doesn’t blame them. So, spring cleaning. Needs doing, established that, good as a distraction except…. ( Read more... )

"A phonebooth?" Hoshi questioned aloud at the TARDIS that was in here. She had stopped her trek to go over to both it and the Doctor, a smile on her face while Seraphiel followed her close behind.

He decided to fly over to inspect the TARDIS to see if it wasn't a trap that she'd be walking right into. When he gave his approval, Hoshi nodded to him and the smile didn't falter.

"I've got plenty of time to help you out. What do you need?" she asked, trying to get an idea of just what the TARDIS was like from sight alone.

I'm up for following him into the TARDIS! radiantcourage February 2 2011, 07:30:03 UTC
"Uh..." Hoshi blinked when she was left with the panel open on the trunk before she went to close it. Then, she shrugged and glanced at Seraphiel. "Wanna follow inside?"

The archangel holy beast cawed, flapping his wings as he clung on to his mistress' arm while she walked inside of the TARDIS, glancing around.

"This is incredible..." she said, awestruck by just the design of it inside.

The Doctor looked up from where he'd thrown himself into his wobble chair. The wobble chair obliged, squeaking on its springs under his weight. He'd been engrossed in trying to figure out those papers, the Time Lord already leaning back with his leg crossed over the other. He turned to watch Hoshi and Seraphiel get a look inside.

"Of course," the Doctor said. "I wouldn't have it anything less. You like it?"

Most humans seemed to. And she did seem appropriately awestruck, so he wanted to place a guess at a solid yes.

Hoshi was already walking around, making little observations here and there. To think something like this existed on Stacy was incredible. She tried to not touch things, though, since she didn't know what they did and didn't want to cause something bad to happen.

"Very much so! What does everything do, if you don't mind me asking?"

Seraphiel also took a small tour around, flapping his wings a little bit before he settled to sit down on one of the railings. He, too, was impressed.

"You just answered your own question, Hoshi. It does everything!" The Doctor weaved around the console and threw a switch to demonstrate, the lights brightening and some sort of haunting alien music starting to play. Generally he liked to stick with the Earth classics but sometimes he got bored and tried to shuffle it around. The brightened lights cast the scorch marks on the wall in sharp contrast. "That, by the way, is the very, very first composition of Tir of Antion. Wonderful work. Bit shy though; nice fella."

Very nice. And hopefully, just maybe, Antion hadn't been under attack from the Ohm either. Tir of Antion's music was a combination of low drones and a warble weaving throughout, not sounding like any animal or instrument from Earth. On Antion, it didn't do very well. Not at first, but once Tir got going into his hundreds, it suddenly caught on (imagine that). The Doctor left the music on as he spread the papers they found in the secret obvious compartment out on the console, flicking a glance up at Hoshi and Seraphiel.

Oh, the lights! And the music! While it wasn't something that Hoshi would listen to on a regular basis, she showed her appreciation with a cheerful smile. It had a beat and her foot tapped against the floor a bit with it. "Who is the Tir of Antion, Doctor?" she asked curiously, grinning a bit wider.

She decided to go over to where the papers were spread out, Seraphiel following her and the archangel decided to sit somewhere else in the TARDIS. He found himself enjoying being in here, it not entirely clear if it was just because of Hoshi or that he was enjoying it of his own volition.

"What do they say?"

"Composer, singer, bit of a lover toward the end. Probably surprised Tir of Antion more than Sarah of Antion, believe you me." The Doctor reached out to wipe some imaginary dust off the gramophone sticking out of the control console. "It's not a 'the'. That's his name. Name, place. Like Da Vinci," the Doctor added, "Except with tusks."

But Tir of Antion's tusks were a bit on the...small side, so it was best to pretend not to see them. More polite that way instead of staring. Incidentally, those small tusks made him an excellent vocalist, so there was that. Since Hoshi seemed to appreciate Tir of Antion's work, the Doctor reminded himself to look up more of his compositions on the databanks for her.

The Doctor was folding one of the papers back when Hoshi asked about them. "I'm not sure. Seems to be some sort of code. Obviously important if you hide it in a secret obvious compartment."
