Several days after being possessed and the Doctor’s convinced he needs to do some spring cleaning. Or at least some kind of cleaning. Probably should have done it awhile ago, come to think of it, but things kept coming up. Things do that, so he doesn’t blame them. So, spring cleaning. Needs doing, established that, good as a distraction except….

Frankly she couldn't remember waking up this morning...weird.
But well she was here and there was no denying it. It was plain as the nose on the Doctor's face.

"It's not just any phone booth." The Doctor started to fish around in his pockets for the TARDIS key before remembering. Still missing in action. Not only did he need to track down a spirity demon thing, but he also had to find that key. "It's better. Easily. Easier than easily. Right, so -- "
The Doctor snapped his fingers, the TARDIS doors opening to give Sandy a glimpse of her console room. The TARDIS groaned -- it almost sounded annoyed to him -- but obliged with the doors, which was promising. The Doctor let Sandy go in first, hovering a few feet away. It was almost a habit at this point, watching for a reaction.

Yes she lived on a space ship made of meat that was also psychic. Yes there were two versions of her worlds mightiest and deadest spider-themed hero right down the hall from where she slept... but this was still pretty wild.
"Not just any phone booth." She repeated after the Doctor talking a few more cautious steps in. "What...is all this?"

Unless Lash was installing lasers, but she was in a military. If anyone knew better, it was her.
Over the course of his derailed trip with the odd man he'd briefly seen on the observation deck, he learned that this was in fact the Doctor again, though he lacked the prior memories. Always curious about the people in Jamie's life, Billy followed readily.
"I think I have the hours to spare. Kaylee and Jamie were ready to throw me out of the lab if I'd stayed too much longer."
Reply
"Probably not much for labs, are they? No, Engineering seemed to be more...well, Kaylee and Jamie -- " the Doctor paused for a second too long and then instead said, "I'm sure he could learn. So, here we are: you'll need this. Hold out your hand, there you go, don't go losing it."
The Doctor reached into his pocket and pulled out a ball of twine. It looked perfectly ordinary from shape to color and texture. He plopped it in Billy's hand, gave the ball of twine a fond pat, and then opened the doors of the TARDIS for his new companion. The Doctor brushed past Billy to enter first, turning on the spot and stopping to pick at a bit of scorched paneling on the TARDIS's interior. Didn't seem to want to come off. Poor girl. No, if she was cross with him, she had a very good reason. Despite trying to pick at the scorch mark, he might be also glancing sidelong at Billy, watching him enter the time machine.

It's definitely a warmer color scheme than he remembered seeing when he first met Jamie inside a simulated version of the control room. Bright orange everywhere, glows here and there, more switches than he remembered seeing back then. So much more complex, just like Jamie had warned him.
"It's quite the upgrade," Billy commented, taking it all in. That was around the point when he noticed the damage. He wasn't quite sure what to think---the fight had been in here? With such a small space, it was a wonder Jamie and the Doctor had gotten out relatively unscathed.
"Do you want another set of hands for that?" he asks about the scorch-picking.

The Doctor pulled his hand away from the scorch mark, shaking his head. "No, no, I'll see to it later. So, that ball of twine," the Doctor pointed at it, "It's quite easy, what I need you to do. All you have to do is follow me and help me map out the TARDIS. Got a bit scrambled since the last time, I'm afraid. We'll keep at it until the twine runs out."
Normally he would have sent Amy or Rory on their own to cover more ground, but they were still unaccounted for. And despite how much he might like humans, even with all their faults, the Doctor wasn't too keen on having humans wandering around unsupervised in the TARDIS. Not after the Darksoul. especially not when she was in a mood. Even if he knew Billy was probably trustworthy: or at least Kaylee and Jamie seemed to think so and he was inclined to believe them. The Doctor nodded toward one of the doors leading away from the console room.
"Shall we?"

Upon seeing the TARDIS she raised an eyebrow, "It's rather small..." She hesitated, realizing that her statement could be seen as tactless and impolite, she would need to correct that. "Cozy, I suppose," she added.
She couldn't imagine this task taking any more than two hours considering she was staring at a box.

He won't take offense at the "small" bit. Well, not too much. Maybe the TARDIS was an old Type-40 but really, even he still got lost in her sometimes. So cozy, yes. Small? Not so much. The Doctor banged about the inside of the TARDIS. After a few minutes, he nudged open the door. Or more accurately, what looked like a walking tower of stuff with legs nudged open the door. Hopefully Miranda was quick on her toes. The first thing visible was a collection of boxes and bags, piled higher than his head; he may be already shoving them blindly at where he thought Miranda was standing last.
"Here you go!"
The Doctor trusted her to help him with the boxes. She seemed like a capable young woman...another pair of hands could certainly be useful here. He was more than fairly sure these boxes were the safe ones. No irradiated ones.

While Miranda rarely looked surprised, there had been a hint of awe at how much stuff he'd managed to carry out of such a small area. Miranda decided to assume this was yet another curiosity of pan-dimensional travels. She tilted her head in the direction of the TARDIS, "Bigger on the inside, I assume?"

He joined Miranda outside the TARDIS, dusting his hands off and straightening his jacket. That? Is a lot of stuff. And not even a fraction of all the stuff probably squirreled away in the TARDIS: he had centuries to perfect squirreling and at times he didn't even know how much time, exactly, he'd just collected stuff. Or acquired it. Sometimes his friends and acquaintances through time gave him gifts to remember them by. That sort of thing tended to pile up. The Doctor moved to stand next to Miranda, trying to figure out a plan of attack, wringing his hands. Miranda seemed both quick and ready to do the job, so that was good.
"Just sort them through time. Or maybe function -- wait, you might not know all the functions. Hmm..." The Doctor regarded the pile, chin in his hand. He suddenly gave Miranda a clap on the shoulder, "Sort into Stuff, Things and Other. Easy!"

He decided to fly over to inspect the TARDIS to see if it wasn't a trap that she'd be walking right into. When he gave his approval, Hoshi nodded to him and the smile didn't falter.
"I've got plenty of time to help you out. What do you need?" she asked, trying to get an idea of just what the TARDIS was like from sight alone.

"Boxes that need sorting. Might have to toss some things -- Ah! Here we are!"
With a final heave, the Doctor struggled and grunted and pulled that trunk over the TARDIS's threshold. The only real way to describe the trunk was obnoxious. Awful, awful carpet trim, what might have been golden wheels once upon a time, and a little chain swinging off the side. The chain itself was studded with an equally obnoxious ruby. All in all, it was obnoxious and that was the end of that. A by-product of his younger days, he supposed. The Doctor nudged the trunk with his foot.
"Just this for now, I think. Probably take good part of an hour." He glanced over at Seraphiel flying about, making sure he didn't buzz into the TARDIS and set off anything. "Want to do the honors?"
The trunk wouldn't bite Hoshi. He promised.

While the design of the trunk was certainly... well, unique, she nodded and smiled. "Sure, I would. What should be kept and what should be thrown away?" she asked, wanting to do this job the right way with no errors in it.
Seraphiel decided to sit on one of the railings in the hangar and observed the work that they were doing silently. Hoshi trusted the Doctor and he supposed that he trusted him as well.

The Doctor didn't make a move to open it for Hoshi, trusting her to be able to manage a low-level security trunk, awful carpet and ruby chain and all. He did, however, lean over her shoulder to watch, his hands clasped behind his back. It was just close enough to possibly be either unnerving or irritating or a mixture of both.

Nothing did so her first impression was predictable; terribly unimpressive. You'd have to forgive her.
"Is this some sort of trick to get me to clean a fancy outhouse?" Pause. "Unless you want to install lasers on it."
Who knew, maybe this fancy outhouse was really important to him.

"These look like they're used to make weapons." She gave him a puzzling look. Then again with Lash anything could be turned into a weapon if she worked heard enough. "Just what were you doing with them exactly? Apart from the obvious need to sort them out it seems..."
