Awards season is getting closer and it's about time for the hopefuls to start showing their cards. A trailer for a first contender which is a dramatic retelling of the post-Watergate television interviews between British talk-show host David Frost (Michael Sheen) and former president Richard Nixon (Frank Langella). The two lead actors reprise the roles they played on Broadway in the award winning play written by Peter Morgan (The Queen, The Last King of Scotland, The Deal). Sam Rockwell, Kevin Bacon, Rebecca Hall, Oliver Platt, Toby Jones, Matthew Macfadyen are also part of the cast, some of them with excellent hair-dos. Directed by Ron Howard (The Da Vinci Code, A Beautiful Mind, Apollo 13).
Looks just as gripping as it should be. Musical choice for the trailer indicates that it's a Requiem for a President and at the end the interview partners most likely will burn in the sun. Gosh I hope that guy who allegedly governs the USA for a few more months will undergo a similar grilling at one point. Then again, there probably would barely be an intelligible sentence be spoken.
Trailer has been up earlier in the week for a couple of hours before it got taken down, but chances are the yahoo hosting is the real deal. Fingers crossed.

The Secret Life of Bees     HD480p 52MB   HD720p 118MB
Moving drama based on the best selling novel by Sue Monk Kidd. Set in 1964, it tells the story of a 14 year-old girl (Dakota Fanning) who is haunted by the memory of her late mother (Hilarie Burton). To escape her lonely life and troubled relationship with her father (Paul Bettany), she flees with Rosaleen (Jennifer Hudson), her caregiver and only friend, to a South Carolina town that holds the secret to her mother's past. Taken in by the intelligent and independent Boatwright sisters (Queen Latifah, Sophie Okonedo, Alicia Keys), she finds solace in their mesmerizing world of beekeeping.

Coraline     Feat1   Feat2   Feat3   Feat4   Feat5
Five behind-the-scenes featurettes, each about two to three minutes long, from the upcoming animated movie based on Neil Gaiman's book. While there's the usual back-slapping, there's also a lot of stop-motion footage from the movie itself.
It's the story of a young girl (voiced by Dakota Fanning) who unlocks a mysterious door in her new home, and enters into an adventure in a parallel reality. Other voices will be provided by Ian McShane, Teri Hatcher, Keith David, Jennifer Saunders and Dawn French. Directed by Henry Selick (The Nightmare Before Christmas). 'They Might Be Giants' will contribute songs.

Nights in Rodanthe     HD480p 80MB   HD720p 199MB
Four-minute, extended trailer for this romantic drama about a woman (Diane Lane) who, after her life is in chaos, retreats to the tiny coastal town to tend to a friend's inn for the weekend. Here she hopes to find the tranquillity she so desperately needs to rethink the conflicts surrounding her, a wayward husband (Christopher Meloni) who has asked her to come home, and a teenaged daughter who resents her every decision. Almost as soon as she gets there, a major storm is forecast and Dr. Paul Flanner (Richard Gere) arrives. The only guest at the inn, he is not on a weekend escape but rather is there to face his own crisis of conscience. James Franco and Scott Glenn are also part of the cast. Based on a book by Nicholas Sparks.
The extension makes it feel like as if you've already seen the whole movie and I would prefer it if the characters would carry around only about half as much emotional baggage as they do, but it's hard to resist to at one point watch another reunion between Lane and Gere.
