I am CONVINCED that my city made a bet with a Zeus and lost. We keep getting our a** handed to us. Last night, around 7:30, a MASSIVE mircroburst* hit us. Supposedly the winds were ONLY around 70 mph. I'm not buying it. The damage was HUGE. Powerlines down, roofs ripped off, structures destroyed, roads flooded and power....half the city was in the ( Read more... )

Yeah, me too. I was lucky enough to be inside when it hit. But the building I was in flooded and had windows blown out. One of my friends was driving with her 5 y/o in the car. He started crying. She said they just climbed in the backseat and hugged each other. It really did just pop up.

Me too! I don't know if you watched the video. But that apartment complex and that leaning power line...VERY close to my place.

Glad to hear you're okay. I just got an email from a friend whose house burned to the ground--poof! He saved his dog, cat and a pair of flip flops. Crazy world!

WOW! That is awful. I'm glad he saved his pets. And having shoes is also a good thing. :)

You know...I feel like you're a woman in one of those slasher movies. "Get out of the house! He's in there!!!" But you keep going from room to room, looking, just asking to be slashed.

Norman is that house, and the weather is the slasher, and you really need to GET OUT OF THAT HOUSE!

LOL! My dad said the same thing last night. He was like, "Uh, doesn't this weather concern you?" "Yes!" "Then maybe you should ....MOVE!"
"I know. I know.""Until then, I'll just keep watching the weather channel to make sure my daughter doesn't get blown away, frozen to death, or sucked into the ground after an earthquake."
