Last year i wrote down the books I read on my calendar. Or at least I did tht until June, at which time I forgot to write down my reading adventures. By years end I had a rough idea of how many books I had read. This year I'm going to be more deliberate. (And it is kinda of jarring to see how many books I read in one month. Someone gave me a copy of NEVER LET ME GO, but I never bothered to read it. For one thing, it annoys the heck out of me when literary writers write a science fiction story and refuse to call it science fiction. THE DUFF sounds interesting.

NLMG is definitely Science Fiction. I just could not tolerate the lack of emotion in the story...and the rambling style of the MC. Most of the people in my book club liked it. It is the first book I've read in a long time that I liked the movie better.

I really liked The Duff. I caution adults not familiar with YA to be worned it has some sexual content. Not detailed, But you know what is going on. But it has a good lesson.

Never Let Me Go isn't. I need to better this month. I have non YA books on my shelf...they keep getting knocked down the list. But Sugar Queen will be read this month. And I have two other nonYA to read.

I think you'll like it. It's a bit fluffy, but the author does a bang-up job of mixing fantasy with reality without making it a series of "WTF" moments.

Holy... moly. That is one impressive list. I'm happy if I read six books in a month, and some months much less. Wow.

I know. What can I say? I'm an overachiever. A slow month for me is usually 6-8 books.
