Restless in Texas

This week I'm feeling a little tapped out emotionally. Yesterday, my very good friend kajivar had to let go of her cat Tristan who was 13. I've known Tristan since she got him, and his sudden passage from this world, and sympathy for his mama just hit me like a ton of bricks ( Read more... )

I take Vitamin D3 supplements through the winter, and when it's especially grey at other times, to help with the effects, theoretical or otherwise, of SAD. (Lots of commercial Vitamin D is D2, which is nowhere near as useful as D3. Check the label.)

But, you can also build up D3, so when it's nice out, spend a little time in the sun.

I find the time between to be the most challenging of all times. Happy? Got it. Busy? No problem. Even heartbroken I'll take over limbo.

I know just how you feel, and it sucks. Sorry the week's been a tough one for you. Hang in there!

I must say that I do envy you a bit with the time that you have - but on the other hand, I also can relate to your restlessness. The circumstances of my life have been such that a good long break from having to spend the lion's share of my time working would be most welcome. Not in the cards, though...at least for now, so I am working on accepting that.

That being said, I hope you find something on which to really start focusing your energy. It's probably already been suggested to death, but have you looked into any programs that your local community center might offer? Perhaps take a pottery class, or the like? Volunteer some time at a hospital or a homeless shelter or *insert your charity of choice here*...?

**hugs**

Through the past year, I've received so many reminders, some kind, some incredibly unkind, that many people would love to have the endless free time that I do. Noted. Many people would also like to have the sense of purpose in life and self-confidence from it that my critics have as well, myself included.

That really strikes a chord!

A friend of mine who will remain nameless used to always make the comment "How's your idefinite vacation going?" until I made it clear that I didn't appreciate it - Endless free time only feels like a vacation for the first week!

I hope you are able to plant your garden soon! :)

As we so often tell each other, it's nicer to have company in the (same) boat. :)

That was really brave and smart of you to let your friend know those remarks were unappreciated. It's hard to stand up to a friend!
