Thank you for asking after his health.
The Creeping Crud remains something of a mystery. The worst of it was beaten back, only to reappear lightly around his neck as a series of "pimples," very tiny. We still think he's allergic to something, but just don't know what. Sometimes he scratches too much at one and breaks the skin, making it worse. Just still a big mystery -- but it just might be a lifetime one.

Hrm.. around his neck mainly... Does he wear any kind of collar? Sensitivity to a flea collar could do this... That and fish by-products are the two most common cat allergies. I sympathise with the allergy mysteries. I had a horrible time figuring out my worst allergy in life to a very common rubber additive/conditioner. I reacted to it much as most folks react to poison ivy. It took us over 20 years to figure out what the irritant was.

Nope, no collar -- hence our confusion. It seems more pronounced on the underside of his neck than above, but then again, that could be from scratching.
Watson has a visible (and amusing) aversion to smells he doesn't like. He REALLY disapproves of my perfumed hand lotion. I switched brands, thinking maybe that was it, but we'll see. At least he doesn't make "stinky face" to the new kind, if that's any indication.
