The Last Tortilla Chip

Ian and I often joke that when you're eating, you eventually come to a point where you recognize that you've had enough, you're satisfied and full, and it's time to stop eating. Since this recognition is most obvious while we're dining at Don Pablo's, our favorite Mexican place, where they serve unlimited fresh hot tortilla chips, we associate the ( Read more... )

Hey!! It has been awhile. I still read your journal though to see how you are doing. I miss everyone. Just recently went to an SCA event at Indian Springs. Had not been there sense the Everhate event with all the OOP drama. I had such a wonderful time with "The Family". I only wish that things had gone in the right direction and none of that bullshit never happened. I miss LARPING but the SCA is the next best thing to appease the nerd in me. Oh well. Take care babe... tell everyone I said hey and that they should contact me sometime.

I do hope this means you will be back in April. I know you're full now, but you'll be hungry again, right?

The recognition of eating the last tortilla chip in no way casts aspirsions on the tortilla chip itself, or signals never eating them again. It is just the satisfied end of a meal. Tortilla chips will be eaten again!

In fancier talk, this is also referred to in economics as Diminishing Marginal Utility, the concept that you really only eat so many tortilla chips in one setting, ya know?

But of course I'll be back in April!

I've been using that phrase way too much in my normal life. Recently, it was used to explain why one can only eat so many Thin Mints at a time.

Ooooh, serendipity! Thin Mints, tortilla chips, or fundamentals of economics. True enough real world examples, however!

By the way, been so consumed with my own tortilla chip challenges that I have yet to congratulate you on your choice about Suriname. I think this is going to be the adventure of a lifetime.
