This post is all LARPing, all the time, so if you're not interested in that hobby, or Everhate in particular, move along. This is not the post you're looking for. ;)
This post is a little whiny, and "woe is me"ish, so proceed with caution.

On a side note.. it was "only a lock may be the key".. "not a lock is the key".. which is why you were having trouble. More than just us knew we had it.. and I forgot to tell Giddeon he had to open it.. not enough sleep on my part.. I wasn't relaying information correctly.. .. cause i forgot that bit.. I was off too..
I dont really think its year of the DragonStar and we are just stupid enough not to quit.. hence we save the world alot..
Wish I could make it better for you.. let me know if there is anything i can do

I really enjoyed the Knights Paladin encounter, and should've mentioned that in better detail. The small detail of the knights shouting, "Defend yourself!" before laying into their opponents was very nice. It was very clear from the outset that the knights would fight honorably, and that was an innovative aspect to a fight.
Now, it just so happens my character really did think she was unarmed. As a necromancer, she thinks of herself as a "healer." Of course, nobody told her until much later that the knights were harmed by necromancy. Had she known her spells were useful to fight that guy, that scene might've gone differently ( ... )

I also love dressing up, costumes, make up etc.
Unfortunately, I also the biggest scaredy cat you will ever meet. I love scary movies, but I jump and scream the whole time, and likely have nightmares that night, and sleep with the light on. Of course, that doesn't stop me from seeing them. I also am scared of roller coasters. I am a total baby.
There was actually a tv show a few years ago I used to love that was based on a role playing game. It only lasted a season, but it was awesome. It was called "Kindred - The Embraced." based on vampires. I love it when vampires are rich, decadent, party going sophisticates.
Your role play game does sound like fun though.

It is a lot of fun. The ages of participants at this game in particular start at 17 (because of the mature themes in the horror genre), and run upwards from there. I'd guess the oldest players are probably in their late 30s. As I said, it's a wonderful way to meet people, make new friends. It's good creative inspiration, and if nothing else, nice to get out of the city for the weekend!

On "getting" plot: I agree with you almost 100% on this, but I think I need to revise that to, say, 95%. The thing is, people do "get" plot. Not generally a consideration for folks like you and I, who are roleplaying fools. But I do think it can really get under one's skin, no matter how much of a slave to RP they are, if continually exposed to others being handed stuff (which does happen, I would continue to argue). Yes, maybe it can be handed over in a semi-insulting way in that it can easily imply that they just literally don't "get it" overall in the way that someone else (say, a fool for RP) would... but it can still irk frustration levels. Not sayin that this is what happened to you this particular time or any other, but, well, I've been there and know that it chews. Even if I am one of those "give me a piece of string and another PC and I'll happily entertain myself for hours" types. Could be that you are witnessing some degree of this and being irritated subliminally ( ... )

Trust me, I got enough roleplaying out of Winter learning of Shar's death the next day. Poor dear cried rivers. I did take that roleplaying in good stride as Deb.
If you need a break good Saint I will not fault you. But you can have suck events and all you can do sometimes is take a breather. But we do have a two month break coming, so that may help more.
