What's the dickest thing you ever did or said to a service/retail person? In hindsight, was it fully deserved or was something else playing into your actions?

For those of you who've worked in service/retail, what's the dickest thing you've ever done/said to a customer? Was it fully deserved?

I'm always really nice to people who work in stores and food. :/

I try to be, but if they act like they don't care what I want or need and show no interest in helping me, I can start to get pissed.

I think the worst thing I've said to someone was some person who called my house once and was probably a telemarketer but they had a heavy accent, and after they got done with their spheal I said "yo quiero Taco Bell" and hung up. I was like 11 and at the time thought I was hilarious but that was just a really stupid thing for me to say.

I really wasn't that mean to customers... I was rude to someone on my last day and they were all like "Ew, she is NASTY. I don't want to eat here" and left. I didn't mean to be rude at all, and I knew my tone had come out meanly, but I did not care if they wanted to leave. It was fucking Burger King and I had already worked like 6 and a half hours with no break and omg FUCK BURGER KING.

When my Xbox 360 got the Red Ring of Death, I took it back to Futureshop (the Canadian Best Buy) and told them to give me a new one. They told me that they couldn't give me a new one because of a deal that Microsoft apparently has with stores selling 360s that all defective machines have to be sent directly from the customer to Microsoft to be fixed. Microsoft sends you a "coffin" which is a prepared box designed to ship 360s and you are supposed to mail it back to them yourself and wait for them to either fix it or send you a new one. I knew this before I took it back but I wanted to try and exchange it anyway. The lady was very nice in explaining how their hands were tied and so I said to her "Look, I'm not leaving until I get a replacement. So we can either argue about it and it can turn into a big scene or we can make this happen. So in order to avoid that, I need to talk to whoever can make that happen ( ... )

I'm not usually like that, but I bought the friggin extended warranty. And I was very nice about it.

Also, I used to work at that Futureshop. I knew they could do it.

I don't, unless you count being snippy with people I work with who are stupid and annoying.

Probably putting someone on hold and then saying we didn't have X without going to check because I was too busy to do it.

Yeah, pretending I can't cook anything because the machines are off(and they really are) when I could probably ask the guys in another section of the kitchen to do it. Screw that though, it's not their job. Although I'm supposed to ask... screw that.

Yeah this is also only when it's busy/at the very end of the night. I don't do it if I'm just screwing around cleaning stuff.

Yeah, or I have a line of five people waiting to check out and lord knows what the other two people in the store are just as busy as I am, sorry...don't feel too guilty.

I don't think I've ever said anything rude to a service/retail person. I generally say very little to people I don't know, and I am pretty terrified of being outwardly rude to people even if they deserve it.

I was a grocery bagger for a while, and I think the only thing remotely dicky I ever said to a customer was when I told a couple of ~11 year old boys that they needed to stop playing with the motorized carts.
